Head Coach thread

It looks like most of the articles about Hammon are referencing a report from Marc Stein. That tweet from sports business radio claims to have sources but I doubt it.

zion thing is a rumour, not a fact

even if he wants out, hes not going anywhere for the next five or six years

zion, ingram, lonzo, they have picks if im not mistaken, thats really attractive job, certainly more attractive than portlands job with 31 yo dame and backcourt that doesnt work and defensive personnel that is suspicious
same franchise that's lost every franchise player and coach...they even lost Monty Williams, ...they have a shitty arena and facilities I've read...people don't stay there..they have a fucked up culture .. .only plus is great food in New Orleans...Portland has great food and a way better franchise player

Jody shouldn't be involved, period. PA finally learned to let the people he hired do their jobs. I have zero faith in this coaching change since the house wasnt cleaned with Olshey as well. They are going to waste Dame while watching every other team in the conference leave them in the dust.
And we’ve been stuck in purgatory ever since

And most likely is most mundane. Still have interviews scheduled and won't choose until they are done.

Neil should have been fired for bungling the LMA situation.

He should have been fired for what he did in 2016.

He should have been fired for wasting our picks on Zach Collins.

He should have been fired along with Stotts after we lost to the Pels.

He should have been fired WITH Stotts after the Denver series.

How is this dude still here?

If Neil hires a coach tomorrow that isn’t Billups people will second guess him that he made a reactive hire. If Billups is the guy, then waiting doesn’t matter. If it’s someone else, Neil looks like he conducted the search and got the person he wanted all along.

Ooh, I know this one……er I mean I have no clue?

I really dont think Olshey cares about what people think of him.

How was that Darvin ham defense looking against trae young the other day eh
Milwaukee was 9th in defensive rating in the regular season, and they are 1st in the playoffs. I’m comfortable with my man crush on Darvin Ham’s defense

I just don't know why it's taking so God damned long to announce it. Even if it is Billups they could announce it. They don't have to wait.

The Blazers are being patient and allowing the process to play out. With BOS, DAL, and IND filling their vacancies, the Blazers aren't worried. WAS, ORL, and NOP aren't getting any of the Blazers finalists till the job here is filled.

If it is announced in the next couple of days it will be Hammon or God forbid MDA.

The longer it takes to announce the more likely its Billips.

I think there is conflict over Billups past though. It already cost him the Boston Job.

Jody wants Hammon, Neil wants Billups (Lillard does to but he also likes Hammon). Neil bring the best used carsalesman since PT Barnum, he will likely talk Jody into hiring Billups.

MDA will continue to hide on the bench behind Nash in BRK

Ru kidding me PA was into everything on this team the final decision was his in this organization or olshey would run by him what he doing.
How old are you and do you realize that Allen owned another franchise that went to the highest highs after he let go of the reigns?

exactly. “Stress free” meanwhile texting kids and scouting high school kids 365 days a year sounds like stress to me
First, you aren’t recruiting all year. You aren’t allowed to. You have 30~ games and travel to half. Then postseason. That’s it. If there is one thing that people might not really understand it’s how grueling travel is for these guys. Absolutely brutal, especially for Portland. College recruiting is some HS games during the winter and summer leagues/tournaments. Which sucks because the whole atmosphere is nauseating with AAU guys and all that. To each their own I guess

What that have anything to do with how he handled the Blazers. What does age have anything to do with it.
