CrandC actually opened the door initially with her TMI about my donkey still having a bit of residue from the Georgia marshland.
 
Saw this on IG... for those that will complain about the heat this weekend:

It isnt 120 degrees
I'm not 5,700 miles from home
I'm not dressed in full uniform
I'm not carrying 70+ lbs of gear
There is very little chance of me driving over a bomb today

Watered the yard this morning and came inside to change wet muddy clothes in order to go have lunch with friends. Closed blinds, turned on fan. Pulled off dirty clothes and thought...it would really be nice to just lie under the fan stripped to my panties....
 
I saw that the weather service is saying temperatures could reach 110-115F in Grants Pass and southern Oregon.

I googled, and Grants Pass record Temp is 115F, on 7/4/2022

I know you aren't located here, but Portland Fire has been outspoken on upholding the firework ban in Portland this year. They have been banned for a couple of years now which stemmed from the wildfire in the Gorge and a residential fire in the metropolitan area which caused fatalities in 2021.
 
I live in Hayward which outlaws fireworks, but a mile away is Union City, which doesn't. Fireworks stands on corners.
 
A cheap fast way to cool your body temp on hot days.

Submerge your arms, past your elbows, in a container of ice water.

The colder blood circulating from your arms will decrease your core body temp. It ussualy takes less than 2 minutes submerged to start feeling cooler in your chest area. The cooling affect can last for more than an hour.

Yeah I DID all those things on that list.....so I WILL be complaining about the heat! You draft dodgers can suck it!
 
We had a new heat pump and furnace installed early last month and let me tell ya, best money I've ever spent. Super efficient compared to our previous 25 year old unit. We did blow a fuse yesterday afternoon, but lucky for me, the HVAC guy is my best friend and already came out and fixed it.

Ironically, the rebate check came in the mail a couple days before we had any issues. I'll be using the rebate to buy a grill.
 
First day below 90 in a week. Lashanna more like herself. Spent the morning on her cat perch after stealing my socks and hair tie while I was in the shower. Jumped into linen cabinet and settled on clean towels.
 
A few days of moderate temperatures before next heat wave. Transplanted the celery. Hope roots take before onslaught. Baked scones.
