Hey Poster, I also did not read through before my last post. Glad things worked out well and that my comments helped in some way.
 
OK, I have to say that I've been message boarding since the late 1980's. I set up the first message board on Guam with a Commodore 64 and daisy chained 5 disc drives (people found out how to crash them real easy). I post on numerous boards- both public & private for over 20 years.

This thread is the funniest, most cutting thread maybe in the history of message boards. Here's a fellow poster, laying himself open bare with raw emotion over a very sensitive subject, and he's friggin cut to ribbons and roasted in a fashion that was so brutal that I laugh until I'm crying evey time I read thru this. I mean, this is as good as it gets, folks.

I think this thread should be memoralized somehow. A shining example of how earthy, honest, emotional, funny and brutally sarcastic a message board can be. It's just too good to let die out in the archives of S2.

Mods, what can we do about this?

C'mon, maxiep, get hip! It's only the soldiers in Iraq who were murdered by George Bush who count to people like crandc. If it's an innocent fetus who's getting killed, who cares? I mean, really?

The funniest message board I've ever read is the one on bodybuilding.com. im not into bodybuilding nor do I care for it, but people post pics up of themselves and just get torn apart. It's also the place where the infamous thread about the guys girlfriend (it was fake) was really ugly and they just ripped on him. That htread was posted here last year sometime.

Although I will admit HCP has made me shit my pants from laughing so hard. He said something on bbb that I still laugh out loud to this day if I thinki about it.

and Minstrel just made me laugh my ass off with that Mary comment.

It was new and pioneering. It was fun back then. Granted, this is better, but it was great stuff then.

But back to my original post today... is it feasible to keep this somehow as a "classic" thread? Maybe have a sticky of classic threads (remember the thread about the JJ trade in the 2008 draft? Another classic.) that can be linked to.
 
I remember I spent like 8 hours downloading a pron pic once. just one file. haha.
 
I swear this exact same thing happened to a Nets fan a year or so back. And he posted almost the same thread. I'm not the only one who remembers that, am I?


EDIT: Found it! That thread had a lot less useful advice than this one did.

Anyhow, I will offer my two pennies. I have a son and I have been threw an abortion.

Abortion sucks. You think that since your not the one carrying a baby, that if the woman aborts the child, you will feel fine with it. WRONG. It eats at you, it hurts and it will bother the fuck out of you for a long time. Every time you see a pregnant woman, every time you see a baby. It will mess with your head. That is, if you have a heart to begin with.

If you are cool with abortion and it wont\doesn't bother you at all, you probably aren't fit to be a father anyways.

Now, if you\she decides to keep the baby... you NEED to man up and take care of that child. If you don't, then you are a punk. Don't sign away your rights, don't just say "oh I will pay child support. That is good enough." Because it's not. You NEED to be a part of your childs life and development. And let me tell you, being a father is one of the most cool things you will EVER go threw in your life. It truly changes you. It is amazing.

I would recommend staying with the childs mother, but if that isn't going to work out, you can still be good parents and not be together. I am divorced and my ex-wife and I raise our son perfectly fine.

In any event... you need to be a fucking man and not punk out. This is serious shit.

Ive known her for several years. Its an on again off again "friends with benefits" thing. Ya, I know, weird relationship but thats how it is.

So to make a long story short, she was all pissed off, partly at me for not hanging with her this weekend, and partly for something else. She wouldnt tell me so I drove over there and found this out....oh boy oh boy.

She was all emotional and I tried to calm her down the best I could. I did. We talked. I asked her what her opinion on what to do about this is. She says she isnt having a kid, which I wont lie, was music to my ears. She has said before when her friends with kids visit about how much she wouldnt want a kid...so I believe her...should I?

Anybody here deal with this before? I asked her if she was being honest in her opinion of not having the kid and she said yes. Is there a good chance she could get emotional and change her mind? I cant be a dad right now...I really cant. I also dont want her in the near future say "Fuck off, I dont need your help raising the kid." because Im not a total asshole. If there is a kid in the world because of me then its 50% my responsibility period. I cant ignore that. I told her Im very willing to pay and go to any of the things necessary for an abortion (that word never sounded so ugly)

So anyone have an experience like this? Any tidbits of info would be appreciated especially similar past experiences.

and to the mod who is curious and is gonna figure out who this is by my IP address...just keep it to yourself.

If the person still posts here, have a few guesses, based on who participated in the thread and who didn't, writing style, what I know of people here. But let's not turn this into Gossip Cop or whatever that shit is called.
 
If this just happened get the morning after pill and go with her. Advice? Condoms...whether she thinks she's on the pill or not. Also pull the fuck out if you're not using one. Man up and go through this with her because it affects you as well. She'll appreciate it. Might also want to take Tina Fey's advice, the best birth control she learned in college was the blow job. Sincerely dude, I hope it works out and neither of you should bring an unwanted child into the world. (you're not Shawn Kemp by any chance?)
