Hey..... Blazers front office....

Welcome to our community

Be a part of something great, join today!

FWIW, the Blazers have been great partners. The people we deal with are super nice and skilled at what they do.

They link to the forum from their site. I cannot stress enough how much value that is to a message board. This is almost, alone, enough to make the partnership worthwhile for us.

We do generally get what we ask for.

No, we're not going to get locker room access. We can't get a writing team on this site to actually write, nor can we get one that makes a blazersland kind of site that doesn't fizzle out after the shiny newness wears off.

Otherwise, if you have ideas for things you want from the Blazers from the partnership, feel free to suggest them. As I said, we generally get what we ask for, within reason.

Last season, guys in the forum talked about chipping in to pay for a luxury suite for a game. I was able to get that from the Blazers for free. Their hospitality was downright awesome.

Being a naysaying naybob of negativism isn't very productive.

They link to it in a way that provides zero information about what it is or why someone should check it out.

Also, nice personal attack at the end there, chief.

There was no personal attack. I view the opening post as an attack on the partnership. Unfounded one at that. We have asked you what you want that we're not getting, and you've provided zero. You just seem to want to continuously complain about it. I suggest you try offering something constructive.

The link on their site adds a huge value that you may not understand. Ask your blazersland webmaster about the value of quality links.

Please provide support for this claim.

When? In this thread? I replied with suggestions.

Please, tell me the last time that I complained about our partnership with the team. Since I am continuously complaining about them, it shouldn't be hard to find multiple examples of this.

You keep bringing that up. Blazersland has NOTHING to do with this thread. The average user spends less than a minute on a website, so please explain to a neophyte like me about how a link buried in a non-descript area such as "Rip City" with a title like "Rip City Two" is going to direct traffic to a niche demographic of people who would be willing to use an internet forum?

A backlink from a site as popular as Trailblazers.com increases the SEO (placement on google searches) of this board immensely, probably as much as all of the content combined.

The point is, they were going to do more to highlight this site. They were going to link to game threads (which they have stopped doing,) and figure out other ways of cross promoting content. The point of this thread is about "what have you done for me lately?" Things started out strong in the first year, but they have fizzled.

They stopped doing that when our tweets had an embedded advertisement from Tapatalk in them. Once we ended our relationship with Tapatalk the ads disappeared and the Blazers started retweeting our game threads.

You told me that they had not been doing it, even after we got rid of Tapatalk.

Are you attributing that to our link from the Blazers homepage?

What Is “Link Juice” and What Are PageRank “Points”?
When Site A links to your web page, Google sees this as Site A endorsing, or casting a vote for, your page. Google takes into consideration all of these link votes (i.e., the website’s link profile) to draw conclusions about the relevance and significance of individual webpages and your website as a whole. This is the basic concept behind PageRank.

Cool. didn't know that. Thanks for that info.

I doubt if many geeks, err.. fans see, or click on, anything below that BlazersDancers link. Might was well bury the link at the bottom of a porn site.

BNM

It gets clicked on. For certain.

They have like an intern doing their actual content. I doubt they have the actual manpower to have someone remember to link to our game threads. Everyone just follows the twitter stream and tries to make funny comments.

We provide very little value tbh, everything is on Twitter and Instagram nowadays.

I feel like some swag is in order for loyal members. I've been here for over 8 yrs, and being out of town I don't get to go to the meet and greets unfortunately.

One of those free shirts they toss with the cannons will do! Or hell, even some decals or pennants to pimp out my new crib! I can pay for shipping to Indy.

Hmmm.. You know at first I was agreeing with you... then I thought about a few things.

I've been a loyal member of the Avid(pro tools) and Presonus forums for almost a decade.

Does that mean they should also send me swag?

I came here/ come here not expecting a damn thing other than hoping for some entertainment and new info i'm unaware of.

Not trying to slight anyone here, and I have no clue of the insider details of what is worked out by being the "Official Forum", But it seems rather pompous to expect stuff for being a loyal member.

For me, I'm so happy just to be part of this community, I give shit to people instead of asking for things...ask around...Even tried to think of giving something to you, but you never answered where you are at or living. :)

I'm pretty sure the guy who runs the twitter account is the same dude that manages their online content. Kris Koivisto. Definitely NOT an intern.

I'm here because I enjoy the place...I could choose another Blazer site but all I've visited have offered the members zero swag or sense of community ...this place is great and the folks who run it doing more for us than any other sports site will.

@Natebishop3......your concerns according to the thread title should be addressed to the contact info on trailblazers.com, not ripcity2 in my view...your complaint seems to be aimed at the front office...they provide a link you can use

THE COMPLAINT SEEMS TO BE AIMED AT THE MODS AND SITE ADMINS, NOT THE BLAZERS

You tagged the wrong Nate. You want @Natebishop3.

And no, I would prefer people didn't go directly to the Blazers to complain about things.

Seriously, I'm meeting with the Blazers today and plan on discussing much of what was brought up in the thread.

That's not what I read into Hey...Blazers front office

To make it more effective he should have titled it "An Open Letter to the Proprietors of the Portland Trailblazers...."
