It's called Multi-s. They really make a rap/freestyle better. Look at some of Rakim's work. I use multi-s when I rap, it's not, as you say, "ugly".

This voting is messed up. If the other people competing in this game were smart, they could just vote for the person who did worse. That way they get an easier opponent in the next round. Something is wrong with that.

That wouldn't really help the situation. I think some people believe people are voting based on bias or to "return the favor" or something. To clear that up, I guess we could instill a pannel of 3-5 judges that are fixed and will not show bias when making thier descisions in the coming rounds.

The problem with Swish's idea is that we don't know who the matchups are going to lead to (eg: Even if I wanted to vote out MrJ because he was too good, I don't know if I'm facing the winner of that matchup). I know it's possible, but I didn't really get the impression that it was happening. I mean, Voodoo Child got more votes than vcwannabe15.

The bigger problem is that we're going to have to give someone a bye for the next round. I PM'd Brian about it, but that's something that us rappers definitely can't be apart of.

I understand that this whole process has been really confusing as of late, but remember this is our first time doing this, and I'm sure we will improve. I like the idea of having 3 unbiased selected judges voting. Maybe we will use that format in round 2?

Also, I know there is a problem because we have 14 participants, and 7 will advance to the second round. That leaves 1 member with no competition. What I plan on doing is letting everyone vote for who you think did the best in the first round. The winner will then get a second round bye. (idea came from Chutney)

Again, I'm so sorry that this whole thing has been so confusing. But it will improve over time. For now? Just bear with it

What do you mean by a second round bye? Does that mean they don't have to compete in the second round and just take a winner in the 3rd?

You know another idea I was thinking is maybe you could let a wild card advance from the first round and compete against the person instead of giving him a bye week. For example both azn_iverson/Air Freshner did good so the loser could be a wild card and face the strongest person from round one (MrJ?).

Yo Brian, just make sure that you don't let any of us participants vote who gets the bye.

EDIT: My idea shouldn't be the only one out there. It's kind of a last resort. Anybody else got any ideas?

Despite the confusion, it's been fun so far. I can't wait for the second round.

Brian, instead of giving someone a pass for the second round, why not get an interested person who forgot to sign up. It's kind of unfair they advance without winning round one, but everyone will be interested to see the best person perform in the second round.

That's a good idea. We'll see. I'd rather have someone taking a bye than setting up a wild card, but we'll see. What do you guys think?

Edit - (to MrJ's idea) I dont really think that would be fair. Like Swish said, it wouldnt sit well with the members that competed hard in round 1 to see someone just automatically make it into round 2 without even doing a thing

Just wondering, do any of y'all need anymore judges. Seeing as how I MC once in a while at clubs, not to mention a lot of time on my hands i wouldn't mind being a judge along with others cats up in this board.

The other problem is the vcwannabe15/Voodoo Child battle. Do we keep waiting for Voodoo? Should we just grab someone who couldn't register on time and give him a quick battle against vcwannabe?

IMO, if you want to do the Wild Card idea, you have to make it a little more organized. Here are a couple ideas:

1. Create a thread where posters rank the rappers who were eliminated. The top ranked rapper (average it out) gets to stay in the competition.

2. Or you can do that same ranking idea and the top two ranked rappers submit one verse each. Winner of that (take a vote) advances.


I don't think the wild card rapper should be pitted against the best rapper though. It's unfairly punishing the top poster, who has to face a pretty tough battler. Just include him as if he had advanced and Brian can set up the matches however he normally would have.

It's been pretty hectic and a little rushed, but I agree with MrJ. It's been an enjoyable competition so far. If we do it again, eventually, it'll only be better.
