I was just wondering what multi's are. Does anybody know? Junoon talked about them in his judging of the wild card battle. And I think authentiq mentioned them before, too.

Okay im just going to make this up on the spot to give you an idea, this isn't going to make sense (lyrically) but this is an example of multis:

"I rap-great and trap-baits, attract-hate yet castrate"

Something like that would be considered a multi. Even "rap-great" alone would be considered a multi if you follow that up with a rhyme matching it, such as "trap-bait". Air Fresh only used multi's at the ends of his rhymes if I remember correctly but yeah, somnehting like that.

That is a great page to teach you the basics of freestyling/ battling. My boy SinFiNite compiled a a buncha tutorials together a while back, he also taught me how to rap a few years back when i was doing my thing.

oh and BTW, a multi is a multiple rhyming scheme using syllables, like poetry.

ie.

[Nas - Street Dreamz]
"My man put me up for the share, one-fourth of a square
Headed for Delaware, with one change of gear
Nothin on my mind but the dime sack we blazed
with the glaze in my eye, that we find when we crave"

I've also seen rappers use multies like:

Multis are just generally used to help the flow IMO, although it can set up wordplay or personal punchlines as well.

Let's get back to the second round by at least tommorow now that it looks like Fresh has won.

Either we should see who gets upto 10 votes first and declare the winner in that manner or we get ONE more person to vote and decide it all. Someone with a lot of hiphop knowledge...perhaps the Dream or Authentiq, or whoever else that knows hiphop but hasn't voted. Either way, the 2nd round should begin today...it was supposed to start on Sunday.
