B-

I'm not a fan of Eminem (I really can't stand him), but I gave it a listen. I guess the beat is okay but the chorus is boring and his voice is annoying. Lyrically above average.

The Roots - three part "In The Music", "Here I Come", "Don't Feel Right" medly.

old song but still good

If you guys don't know the rules:

1. Give a grade from A+ to F depending on how good or bad the song is.
2. Post only one song at a time.

I'll get this restarted with some Pharoahe Monch:

C - I like Pharoahe, but that's not one of my favorites. Sometimes his voice is annoying to me, and that song is one of the ones where his voice annoys me enough to ruin the entire song.

Mr. Lif - Live from the plantation

Kind of a weird song, I know. He's a pretty unique MC, obviously not for everybody if you catch my drift.

Classic sh*t right here.

One of my favorite songs of all time.

C-, It's alright, Kind of annoying after 2 minutes into the song.

I'll get in the action. Here's my favorite song:

A- I love Juicy, the lines are so classic that everybody knows/remembers them after hearing the song.

I just thought about this song the other day. What happened to DMX? He used to be awesome when he didn't raise and lower his voice every single song.

B-

One of my favourite DMX songs. He'll be down here soon, I wanted to go to his concert, but I'm the only one in my circle of friends who wants to go, lol.

Mos Def is one of the greatest, especially that album and song

Something a little different:

Cannibal Ox - Painkillers (the only video they have unfortunately)

B

Not bad, I've been meaning to check out Ox for some time now, but for whatever reason never have gotten around to it. I thought it was a decent song, enough to make me want to hear more of his stuff. Sounds like Tash from the Liks.

Anyone remember this?

lmao, I love this song, was listening to it yesterday actually. I just love the original, so I like how they used the beat in this song.

D+, wasn't feeling this song, but I take it that isn't his best work.

I can't find an unedited version, but it's still a sick song.

I don't like the fast rappin, so its not really fair but i'll give it a D.
Next song-video stinks but song is good.

I can't stand Bone Thugs. Every song sounds the same and they're too gimmicky.

The Coup - Dig It

I really like the rhymes man, but they jacked Backdoor Man for that beat. Maybe I'm just auditorily hallucinating though.

Still, Early 90's rap >>> modern rap.

New Song:

Pete Rock & C.L. Smooth - T.R.O.Y.

A+
That's right up there among the best hip hop songs ever and a personal favourite of mine. The beat is great and I love how Rock samples the horn. Gives it a real jazz vibe. And of course Smooth's lyrics are so emotional and heartfelt, that you can't help but empathize with him.

Keeping with the 90's theme, here's a song that basically launched Busta Rhymes' solo career:
A Tribe Called Quest ft. Leaders of the New School - Scenario

A- Love A Tribe Called Quest, one of my favorite from them. Probably in the top 10 of Quest songs

Hypnotize - Biggie

A, one of my favorite Biggie songs.

"Stan"- Eminem

A+++ - My favorite Eminem song. This is one of the most creative songs I've ever listened to. The video goes well with the song and I like at the end how Stan's spirit is still watching Eminem when he says "Damn."

My favorite Pac song:
