My ego has really taken a hit lately, thought it would be fun to see who you’ve been right about and wrong about

Misses
Oden- although he could have easily been a hit had he stayed healthy he didn’t so I missed because I wanted him over Durant (I’m still not a Durant fan I think he’s a chemistry problem for teams)
Ayton- as athletically talented as any big in the game and the heart ten times smaller than the Grinch. He plays for offense and when he’s not getting touches he’s pouting and he plays zero defense like no effort.
Love- I ripped him a new one, selfish player, doesn’t play d, ball stopper. Lately he’s proven me completely wrong ( still shoots a little to much for my liking but he’s been hitting)
Webster- thought he’d be a decent player

Hits
Roy loved his game from start
Sharpe no matter what the guy is a future 25 point
Deni- lots of people turned on him early I said he’ll be one of the most popular players by mid season last year
Rod Strickland loved his game
Jermaine O Neal- didn’t like trading him from start

What are your hits and misses

Hits:
Cliffy. My first favorite player, and he delivered the goods for years.
Toumani. I joked that Ayton was the throw-in in the Camara trade, and I was not wrong.
Ayton. See above lol - absolutely gutless underachiever.
Cingan. His first big minutes last season were so compelling. I was watching him defend and it was a revelation. He's already special and his ceiling is scary good.
Lillard. Weird to think people were ever down on him early but there were detractors. Went to war with folks over 23 year old versus 19 year old players coming into the league. I was a big believer from his earliest games. Also I wanted to trade him when I saw the bell curve of his performance start to drop. Glad that also happened.

Neutral:
Cissoko. I was pretty early on the Sidy train, but I won't call it a hit because it was obvious to anyone watching that he was good.
Love. I was a bit late on the Love train but I won't call it a miss because I have a huge ego.
Billups. I was a hater, and we don't know yet if I was right to hate. I'm just glad he's gone.
Scoot. I still think he can make a big impact, but if he doesn't, he'll be a miss for me. I loved him coming into his rookie season, but wow, he's had a hard, hard road. I hope I get to call this a hit.

Misses:
Yang. I was his Swish3 lol I hope he does well but oh my god, he proves that both the G-League and Summer League are uselessly low on talent. You can't judge shit based on the talent in either league. And unfortunately, Hansen is right in the middle of that gulf.
Oden. We all are witnesses. If you honked twice, you were so right (though I will say the chip on Durant's shoulder has made him the player he is, and he might not have been as good if he'd been drafted #1)
Deni. I had no strong opinion of him last season, and that should count as a miss given what he's become lol

With Oden, I do not think anyone should feel bad about not seeing that. His medical records were not public.

As a fan, we can see flashes of talent. We cannot see how much time a player is putting in to make themselves better. Hard to tell the Darius Miles from the Zach Randolph's.

This thread makes me feel like I haven't stuck out my neck enough in the past (although I did vote once that Deni would be our best all-around player). I am going to say that Yang will be a bust, that he is one of the players we should jettison to keep Love and Cissoko. So there.

Oden is special case. We were all over the moon.

Hit: Shae, Deni, Dame. Yet probably for wrong reasons. I liked Shae because he's Canadian and I've met very few Canadians I didn't like. Deni because let's face it, Jewish sports stars don't grow on Christmas trees. Dame because he's an Oakland person.
Miss: Rudy Fernandez. I thought he was going to be something like what Dame turned out to be. Miss: Gary Trent. Not terrible but no Buck or Luke.
