With or without gun laws, not sure you could of prevented this fucker from getting hold of a gun. I don’t know the story so he either bought it off the streets or stole it from his parents. Neither of which have anything to do with gun laws. Once again, the main issue here is mental health. Why aren’t we talking about it? What makes a 15 year old do this? People tend to skip the reasons why somebody would do this and often just say “they’re crazy”. That’s dismissive of the problem. There are serious mental health issues in this country. Unfortunately I don’t think they will ever be addressed. Instead people will blame guns. Which is fine but you would be missing the real issue here wasting your time on that argument
This is the #1 most critical issue. Mental health of kids. Every year kids get a physical (or are supposed to, and they do for sports at least). We make sure kids' bodies are 'right'. We take blood, get vaccines, check their heart, check to make sure their little knee reflexes cuz that's important. But mentally we don't care. Why isn't every kid examined by a mental heath professional no matter what in 4th grade (or whatever), then every two years after, and if they/we see anything, we address it like we would a bad wrist? That's not difficult. Nothing is worst than these shootings and all of a sudden everrrryone is like 'yeah, he was weird". But no one did anything, no one helped or intervened, no medication, therapy. Just let him slide by.
