I'm gonna go out on a limb and say you DON'T have kids right? No system like that would survive toddlers!

I've got 2 kids, here's mine!

No kids, but when kids come over the grills come back on and I sic my chocolate lab on them. He confuses and blinds small children by constantly licking them in the face.

Got my projector!!!

106" screen size. Check out some pics. I installed it just before the game.

Size compared to my 10 year old son

Bump for thread awesomeness.

Very nice, that would of been amazing.

Anyone else got any nice home theaters?

I don't have a home theater, but I have set up a listening room. It's a straight two channel setup. Believe it or not, I still listen to albums--they sound better than most CDs.

what's the setup? that would be pretty sweet for two-channel setup (my buddy from HS started an amplifier company www.reddragonaudio.com ) ..went to an AV show for high end stereos a few years ago, pretty crazy shit.

I wonder how many thousands of dollars are going to be spent as a result of this thread.

Anyway, I've got a 42" wall-mounted Panasonic plasma and a Sony 1000w 5:1. PS3 for dvd's. Nothing really special. Probably $2300 total, all told, and the tv itself was $1700.

It's amazing to see that huge screen, but I think there's a point of diminishing returns. I mean, for the first 5 minutes you watch any nice TV, you think "Damn. This is a nice TV." After that it's, "Damn, Nate, get Rudy more minutes!"

It's astonishing how quickly the human brain turns the fantastic into mundane.

To be completely honest, IT WAS AWESOME! Crazy how big it is. Some of the shots seriously had us feeling like we were courtside. Plus we had it LOUD!!!

Mary Mother a God! How much money did you have to pump in to the screen and projector?

This is how I kick it in the man cave. This photo was taken before I got the digital converter box, which really fancies it up nice!

I like, but what the hell are you watching?

I, too, must save up my pennies so that someday I may afford the $700 Costco special. As it is now I think the unemployment dept. looks unkindly upon people spending their money on TVs (especially when I need food and rent...)

nah, in this version of America, they applaud you for doing so!

My system only seems to pick-up Solid Gold re-runs. Must be the wiring? :dunno:

I've heard the even using your credit card for anything other than gas and groceries can be a red flag. :dunno:

I can watch planet earth in HD and continue to be amazed each time I watch it.

Of course I am easily amused.

My system: I have a 55 inch plasma fujitsu mounted on the wall, had the rear speakers mounted into the back walls, a couple of tower speakers and a center speaker (forgot the brand) and a pioneer reciever.

Just thinking about it makes me crave NBA season even more . . . at least I got the NFL coming soon.

Do you get a loud humming type sound from your TV? My uncle has a Fujitsu plasma and it makes an annoying sound when on.

Linn Sondek with the Radikal, Ekos and Urika upgrades (turntable)

MacIntosh C1000, tube and solid state (preamp)

Two MacIntosh MC501 Monoblocks (amplifier)

Cary 303/300 (CD player)

Thiel 7.2 (speakers)

Nordost Heimdall (interconnect cables)

Silversmith Audio Silver (speaker cables)

Audio Power PowerWedge Ultra 116 (power conditioner)

Most of the stuff I bought used at a considerable discount, so it wasn't as pricey as it appears. My wife doesn't see the point, however, so this is going to be my kit until my wife forces me to sell it and just listen to our Sony clock/radio/CD player in the kitchen.:sigh:
