Hoopsworld article on Blazers shooting coach Townshend

Portland seems to have one of the hardest working staffs in the league. I am not sure if that is a correct statement, or we just hear about more often because they are our home team?

Did John Townshend list two of his clients as--gulp--Ben Wallace and Dwight Howard? In the words of Clark Griswold, "That's nothing to be proud of, Rusty."

Nice to hear about the extra time Pendergraph and Cunningham were putting in.

You should have seen how bad Howard shot at the line 2 years ago.

I question his effectiveness as shooting coach. He spent one whole summer with Sergio and I'm not sure what he accomplished with him.

The one person that I remember that made an impact was Geoff Petrie in the summer of 93 I believe. He took some time off away from front office duties to help Lightening Rod with his jumper. And the results were without question. Rod was night and day different that next season.

Nice article. JT is a real cool guy as well!
