And now the republican senate will turn it down. If they do they will look like idiots.
Is it better for the Republican senate to pass a spending bill they know in advance will be vetoed?

If they think it should be law, they should pass it. That's their job. Then it is the president's decision whether to sign it or not.

All part of the process. If the senate is to vote and pass it only to have trump shut it down, then congress has the option to override the veto.

The bill passed with enough support in the Senate to override a veto, but the Republican party has become a wholly owned subsidiary of the Trump crime family.

Trump cllaimed to have received hundreds of calls supporting the shut down. The White House switchboard is not operating due to shut down.

No tax refunds this year as long as the shutdown continues. The IRS is one of the parts of the government that has shutdown. Only 12% of IRS workers are on the job, all without pay. None of them are doing returns. Hope you republicans are happy.

Not to mention rotting garbage piling up t national parks and in DC. Coast Guard not being paid. Social security disability claims not processed.

So much winning!

I locked the other thread because of posts from @dviss1 and @Hoopguru. Don't have time to clean them up and wanted to end the brain damage. It had nothing to do with @MarAzul or if people agreed with each other.

Obviously. Nothing to do with a difference of opinion. One guy has an opinion and the other guy CAN'T because he doesn't like brown people cuz his racist President told him not too.

Are you going to have a different opinion than some of the ideologues?

If so, maybe.

I don't know. Their position changes from time to time or year to year.

So I just go with what the Boarder patrol says we need to lock it down. That seems like the right thing to do. I could envision getting by with
an M60 about every 200 yards on normal day. Might need some back up when 8000 rush area though. More ammo carriers at least.
Man, just think of whine that would raise. Converting 8000 rushers into a visual deterrent would give Nancy righteous indignation.

But perhaps a wall would look moral in comparison though.

An honest thread title would be:

House WASTING TENS OF MILLIONS OF TAX DOLLARS PUSHING FAKE Spending Bill THAT THEY ALREADY WERE GUARANTEED WOULD GO NOWHERE UNLESS THEY INCLUDE $5 BILLION FOR THE WALL.

or:

DEMS BURN TAXPAYER'S MONEY THEN TAKE A DUMP ON AMERICA.

That is 100% on the lowlife excuses for human beings that deliberately left their rotting garbage in a park they knew had it's funds cut off by the Dems.

Much of it appears to be done by employees to exaggerate the issue.
