Houston Slant on Mo Williams

What an overblown bunch of nothing. First reports after the game were that Harden and Williams were in a fight, and then you see the video, and I'm wondering "that's it?"

Was it ideal, no, but it's hardly worth bashing Mo Williams over, especially since he played a huge role in the win.

Yep. Put away the chai tea machine and drive the mini van off a cliff. Grow a set soccer moms. Thks is war. Warriors gonna get heated.

Maybe Mo was trying to get in the head of Daniels?

Daniels is shooting 64% from 3pt, and has a 90% TS so far in the series, so maybe getting in his face will rattle him, and he'll cool down a bit. This guy is pulling shots out of his ass, and Houston is still losing games. Imagine if he misses a few. Also, for whoever earlier last week posted about being Von Wafered, well, Daniels will see your Von Wafer, and raise x100.

Just like I want Blazer fans to be better than other fans around the league. As much as I agreed with them, I was hugely disappointed with the fans chanting "BS" and "these refs suck" during last night's game. I hold our team and our fans to a higher standard, and expect better than I would expect from other franchises.

Exactly right and repped.

...double repped! I was telling everyone to stop chanting around me. Explaining that we are better than that.

Side note, I also did not like the weak MVP chants that were coming early on in the game before LMA even had double digits...too early folks...wait until the end of a great performance and the game is in the bag at least!

Who gives a shit....

Trash talk is part of the playoffs.

No punches were thrown. No contact was made.

Sanctions? Suspensions? Get the fuck over it Houston. Seriously, I don't think I've ever seen a more whiny fan base.

I'd be looking at you like you were nuts.

I bet you're a hoot to sit by. "Shhhhh, only cheer loudly when the game is in the bag!"

There is at least one Blazer fan in this thread who seems more upset at Mo Williams than his own teammates, or even Troy Daniels.

Trash talk is part of the playoffs.

Some people have impossible standards, and I find posters lecturing about what Mo Williams should do after the game to be so arrogant, I can hardly believe I'm reading it on this forum.

Are some of the Houston fans really talking like that? That's insane!

And people call us soccer moms. ROFL

If people don't like trash talking, watch golf.

Stupid move by Mo. No reason to give them bulletin board material

The Rocket players once again saying they gave another game away and beat themselves isn't bulletin board material, though. This must be a tough series for you. You have to pretend to somewhat like the Blazers, yet it's obvious your allegiance is somewhat divided. You're either bashing Blazer fans, or bashing Blazer players. Meanwhile, the entire city of Portland is giddy about the team. Oddly, the posters that don't live here seem to be the harshest critics right now.

The fans? Shit it was the announcers that were screaming that he should get sanctions.

I love the comment about how Mo Williams is "known for that kind of thing." Really? I've never heard anyone say Mo is known for being classless.

The way I see it, Houston is going to be super hyped up for game 5 as it is "win or go home" time for them. Any pseudo-controversy that Blazers or Mo are classless will help pump up the Blazers more than the Rockets.

Yeah, it seemed out of character for Mo, yet it was smart on him to put Daniels in the spot-light. I'm sure some reporter is going to bring it up to Daniels, which makes Daniels a focal point in the series now, and not a wildcard.

Mo is so soft spoken and mellow whenever he's interviewed, but I've definitely seen the fire in him come out. He's not afraid to mix it up with anyone. He definitely has a competitive spirit, and I think that's what happened at the end of the game. I also think there's more to the story than we're being told.

I honestly dont see how it can be notched up, this series has already been turned up to eleven. The Rockets have shown their very best and the refs have given their very worst...

Even if there isn't, the fact that a D-League guy who has been playing at an MVP level offensively is now a part of a story that has Houston fans and media upset can only be a good thing for Portland. If Daniels shoots any better, he's the greatest shooter in NBA history. I expect him to regress to the mean, and also for Stotts to try and exploit his defense.

Looked like the kid said, "Fuck you, N****r!

good point..

also, it is nice to have the focus on one of our bench players...and not on game five..

Meh, he's hit a few threes. It's not that big of a deal. The fact that Houston has had such shitty production off the bench is the only reason why he's playing and why he's been notable. He is their Dorell Wright. It's not like he's doing anything other than hit threes. I'm not impressed.

You should be. He has an Ortg of 193 and a WS/48 of .337, fer fux sake. Not sure what else the guy would need to do to impress you.

Just what they needed. More fuel to the fire. Just wonder what the kid did to piss off Williams.
Kind of thing that makes one player snap and throw himself at the ball. He He

He went 4-5 from three last night, and he had that phantom foul on Wright. He's shooting well, but it's such a small sample size. Part of that is because we're leaving him wide open. He is single handedly carrying their shitty bench. I think it's a great story that he came up from the D League, but I think he has a ways to go before I'm going to be impressed. So far he's a one trick pony. He can hit wide open threes against a team that knew nothing about him. That will change.

That wasn't a phantom foul. Wright fouled him. It was obvious.

So you don't think this is the case of a guy getting hot for a game or two?

Of course I do! It's been impressive as hell to me, though. I'm not sure I've ever seen anything like it in the playoffs. Without Daniels, this series is over right now, because Houston doesn't win Game 3. The Rockets are having to play a D-Leaguer, yet Parsons, Howard, and their fans say they and the refs are beating them, and not the Blazers.

Side note - odds that the XMas night game next season is Houston @ Portland? Or, a day game of Portland @ Houston?
