Carter and picksfor Kevin Martin and one of the big contracts of SAR or Kenny Thomas.

IMO in trading VC the nets have 2 good options which work CAP wise:

VC for Ratliff's contract, Gerald Green and Marko Jaric (Replace Kidd at the helm and helps develop RJ and Krstic more)

VC for Maggette, Al Thornton, Tim Thomas or Mobley

As long as Jaric promises to bring his girlfriend to every game, and YES agrees to have a constant picture in picture where she takes up most of the screen with the game in the corner, then you have yourself a deal.

Kidd for Mark Jackson(s&t) and Marc Jackson. And then somehow get Shawne Williams on this team, and then sign the other Marcus Williams. Then get Jeffer Richardson. Er I mean Jason. And then trade for Jarron Collins. Fun!

Kidd/Allen/Armstrong/Boone for Varejao/Gibson/Ilgauskus/Pavlovic/Newble

works salary and roster size wise, the only problem is timing.

I agree, Atlanta's the place to look for a trade. I tried the same one, and added in Boone and Nachbar, just so we don't destroy their depth, and they get an expiring contract/possible useful contributer. We do that, we might get a lottery-protected (like it matters with Kidd on the team) pick out of it.

Bill Simmons is on crack, doesn't see any viable options except the Lakers, and there only for Crittenton, a lottery protected #1 and junk: http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story...ons/blog/071206

I hope some of these proposals were meant to be jokes

Man, the more I think about it, the more I really wish we had a gimme on that Bynum for Kidd trade. We do that, we don't sign Carter and then have a nice core of Sean, Bynum, Marcus, RJ and cap space.

Then again, all that cap space - you know Thorn woulda screwed it up.

How about Kidd (19.7 mill), Magloire (4 mill), Collins (6 mill) for Marbury (20 mill), Curry (9 mill), and Balkman (1 mill)

why would you ever trade for marbury??

Exactly

But seriously my trade proposal with the Hawks is pretty much the only thing that will cause me from jumping off a bridge, wearing my Kenyon Martin jersey, while slitting my throat on the way down. Hey I think its a pretty realistic trade request, too!

pretty much everyone

[/QUOTE]

Well Curry is in the deal, and with players like Carter, and RJ capable of drawing double teams, and able to stretch the floor at 3 point range. I think Curry would work really well at center. As well Marbury could play PG some of the time, Carter taking the playmaking some, and Marcus Williams as well. Marbury could provide spark while Carter is out. The Nets would have a serviceable bigman, maybe even change the proposal to include David Lee instead of Balkman, and on the Nets side include Antoine Wright or a 2nd rounder.

Lets look at the Hawks situation.

They have a lot of talent that is young. Al Horford is 21, Josh Childress is 24, Joe Johnson is 26, Marvin Williams is 21, Shelden Williams is 24, Zaza is 23, Acie Law is 22, Salim Stoudemire is 25. Most of them won't hit their prime until 5-7 years from now.

Short Term: Pros

Kidd is better than Childress, and if plays 40 mpg the pointguard position has improved.

Cons

They lose a lot of depth, Childress, Acie Law and Claxton play pg. If Kidd gets a knee injury, or something they are in trouble.Losing a starter in Marvin Williams who is hitting 49% FG%, 15 ppg, 6 rpg, 2 apg.

Kidd's contract is big at 20 and 21 mill. As well if Kidd gets disasitisfied and feels the Hawks aren't his best shot at a title, knowing his age he probably will look elsewhere.

Long Term: Pros

If Kidd stays with them, his experience will rub off as he prepares to leave.

Cons:

Kidd is 35 in March, he probably has 5 years left. When he leaves they will have a gap at pointguard, because they traded away future pg (Childress), and backup (Acie Law). If they don`t do the trade they have 8 talented players entering their prime instead of 4 and Kidd retiring.

No way Childress is a PG. I don't know where anyone woud get that idea from...

And any trade with the Knicks that doesn't involve David Lee and/or Jamaal Crawford is pretty much the worst trade ever.
