Nice to see Gilbert pitch a lot better today than the last month or two.

This was the get right series..

I'd love to take 2 of 3 from the Indians but honestly the games were so freaking close up here it's a toss up each game.

Indians is so last season, they are the Guardians :) Still weird to say or see.

Lmao good catch! Man it's hard to do the switch hahaha.

I actually really like the new name too. There's a person who is on 1080 who switched fandom because they switched to the guardians. I think the name is better than the Indians, IMO.

Let's make it seven in a row today! Kirby's gotta keep dealing!

How long has it been since the Mariners have made the playoffs?

LC ks the first SEVEN whitesox.

Team record and ties AL record.

And we gave him run support!

Then he gave up a 2 run homer haha. Dude is legit an ace. Good to have 2 of them.

Bummed I have to work this weekend and am missing my Braves playing up in Seattle. Have a few friends going up for all of the games.

Sucks to lose 2/3 against the white Sox but it’s alright.

It looks like we are making the playoffs, with a pretty easy schedule after a two game series with San Diego after Atlanta. The thing in baseball is you never know lol. Especially woth the team being hot and cold this year.

  • The X-factor: I suspect the agonizing playoff drought, as painful as it has been, will turn into the Mariners’ friend if and when they get to October. They will certainly become a sentimental favorite, for one thing; but more importantly, the atmosphere at T-Mobile after a two-decade absence will be nothing short of maniacal. Just think of what it was like in 1995, and expect that level of fanaticism, or perhaps more. No team should have a bigger home-field advantage.

Sorry but that's some horseshit ... the problem with trying to replicate the magic of 95 is that it was magic, there was nothing else to explain it. I think people forget how far back that club was, 12.5 games on August 21st, but then to tie the Angels and have to go to a playoff game, add in the fact of how dismal the franchise had been, even worse than now IMHO because no one had ever seen them in the playoffs and the topper was the Kingdome. Yea it had some pretty glaring faults, but when that place was loud, it was LOUD!

That quote is pretty far down the article. They make a number of other pretty good points.
The article isn’t “Horseshit”.

Don't know about the article, just the part you quoted, more the X-factor ... that part is just false. This team is fun no doubt and maybe I don't see it being 2,000 miles away but there is no magic around this team, there is no REFUSE TO LOSE! I have a small group of friends that text about the Ms every couple of days, but no feeling like that team in 95.

My family bought a playoff package in 95, so I was at several of those games as well as regular season games in the lead up to it. I can confirm, there was magic in the Kingdome.

I have been to a couple games this year, and the only thing I'll say is that the mojo is back! That 95 playoff run is a high water mark for sure, but there is a never say die attitude and the city of Seattle is loving it.

I wouldn't want to face a team like the M's in the playoffs, they have absolutely nothing to lose once they get there.

Just my opinion.

I'll never forget being at the very top of the dome in 95, they beat Oakland to move into their first ever tie of 1st place in September and as they changed the banner standings, hearing the entire dome chant "We're #1, we're #1" ... it was electric.

That Yankees series still gives me chills just thinking about it. I have the paper clippings and tickets framed somewhere.
