Wasn't exactly a smash and grab, but I was a victim to theft yesterday. I was at the DMV for a few different things, went down to last counter to get my picture taken and set all my documents and phone on the counter. I finished and gathered my things and left, but when I got to my car I realized I didn't have my phone. Went back thinking I must have left it on the counter. GONE. Dude that was in line behind me was definitely sketchy and he was MIA too. Called my phone right away and it had already been turned off.

Losing your phone fucking sucks!

Apple has a phone locater online....I used it when I worked teaching and we found a students stolen phone by the thief's address....the program showed exactly where the phone was...she got it back

Yup, I had a Google, which has a locator if the phone is on. Theif was smart to turn it off right away.

I never use my phone on BART.
Funny story, a small young man on BART was scrolling through his iPhone when a man twice his size snatched it and tried to get to next car. Small guy pinned him against side of the car with one leg, balanced on other leg and started pummeling would be thief until he got his phone back.
Little guy is a San Francisco Ballet dancer with very strong legs.

In the Army they teach you how to avoid that. When out on maneuvers they come and steal your rifle in the middle of the night thereby teaching you to sleep with it at your side in your sleeping bag.

Now she's calling for more aggressive law enforcement lolz

Glad to see Mayor talk tough and promote the use of more aggressive law enforcement.
I give her credit for finally seeing it for what it is and it needs to stop. There must be a consequence or it will continue as it has shown in many cites that have taken a soft approach to crime.

The DA is gonna go through a recall in SF, which is probably the real reason
