With all of the electronic gadgets available these days there are many ways to view and post on RipCtiyTwo. I'm curious how you view and post on the forum.

This is a multiple choice poll, if you use multiple things, phones, tablets, computers, etc. then select them all.

Ah, so the Blazers gave you homework....

We'll all pretend that it was your idea, Sly...

Blazers didn't give me homework and yes, this is my idea. We did talk about a few things including adding a live chat during games. My first thought is to put the chat window on the side of the game thread but I have a 24" and 22" monitor so I have tons of screen real estate for things like that.

So we're gonna give people even LESS time to not think about what they type before hitting submit? :ghoti:

Nah, that's a cool idea!

Desktop, android phone, and even my smart tv when I'm too lazy to get my phone.

Why? So he could piss them off? They didn't have to meet with him and offer him these nice things. And likely the people he met with have no control over such things.

I doubt that would piss them off.
And if it does "piss them off", so fucking what? They need to be reminded of that clusterfuck of a deal over and over so they won't make the same clusterfuck of a deal again.

they obviously aren't talking about it anymore, and haven't in years. We're coming up on the last season of the deal and how they go about negotiating their new one will speak volumes about how much they actually cared about the original deal causing a big portion of their fans being without the games on TV.

I have way to many ways to view S2. When games are on I usually have it up on my phone on tapatalk and then have my tablet open to the other scores of games/fantasy updates all while i'm still watching the game on my TV. I may have ADD...

I use Dixie cup ---> string ---> roof antenna ever since the carrier pigeon flew the coop. "Comcast" may fly back someday.

Why bring something up to someone that is offering you things they don't have to In the early stages of said relationship, when these people literally have nothing to do with any of the Contract negotiations on the business side of things.

It makes absolutely no sense and would make us come off as giant assholes.

Blazers: hey sly, we really like our relationship with s2 and want to make sure you guys are happy. Is there anything we can do to strengthen our relationship

Sly: you're Damn right there is. You fucked us with Comcast and we all hate your guts. If you're even thinking of resigning with them you can shove it up your ass. You better not resign with them.

Blazers: uh, ok? That's a different department and I don't have anything to do with that.

Sly: I don't give a Damn. You need to be reminded of your injustice to our fans.

Blazers: uhhhhh ok. Maybe we need to rethink this relationship. Again we have nothing to do with that.

These things are sales and business 101 bro. You don't bite the head off of someone offering you swag and generosity for something they literally have no control over.

I view it as a place where certain people are allowed to troll because they were on tv :)

You obviously don't understand what it means to make a point without actually making a point. I'm not actually suggesting that he should've done this, but since I know they're reading the board I hope they see it and don't think that just being silent about it means fans have forgotten about it or have gotten over it.

There are more than one way to get HCP to mow your lawn.

Plus, this is about a fan forum, and what the team can do to improve the relationship with fans. If they don't realize that the TV deal has weakened their fan base, they're delusional.

And they rely on this forum for some inside view of how fans feel about certain things, so bringing it up wouldn't be the end of the world because it's a PR thing. This message board is PR too.

And, btw, I like how you went with the "we hate your fucking guts" bit, as if that's actually even remotely close to what I said. But we gotta go back to sucking up to Sly, and the Blazers I guess.

Sucking up to sly? Yeah, ok. Can't say I've ever actually sucked up to him. Unless he has peanut butter of course.

But continue on with the whole me hate blazers because of Comcast schtick.

Bottom line is they are a business, and whether they resign with Comcast or not, the moda center will still be rocking every game with passionate fans that don't get all butthurt over it.

Most of the people that complain have a simple solution. Sign up with Comcast.

sigh...you went into hyperbole mode with your comment about "fucking hating" the team or whatever it was you said, so I responded similarly.

sigh...I don't "hate" the team, if I did I wouldn't post here, or listen to games. One can argue against something they've done (or not done) or an aspect of their franchise business model and not have the "me hate Blazers" mindset.

Well, for starters I don't think it'll be true that if the team continues to alienate a certain % of it's fans with a TV contract that it's faulty, that the RG will be "rocking every game". They want to build their fan base with more people. It's not like we're Southern California here, where there are like 8 million people in the metro area.

If TV wasn't an important factor to creating interest in the Blazers, they wouldn't worry about having games on TV period, because after all, the RG would be "rocking" ever game. But guess what? To a large portion of the fans, going to games isn't an option. So they rely on TV. And if the games aren't on TV, they lose interest real quick.

Prime point, my uncle was a season ticket holder for almost 35 years, but about 6 years ago he gave them up due to his retirement. Since games aren't on TV (for him), he's lost his interest in going to the games because it's easy to forget the team is playing.

You seem to forget that casual fans are also important to the attendance #'s. The team, even when it was winning against Houston in the 1st round 2 years ago, wasn't nearly as popular as it could be. Why? Not enough fans have access to the games on TV, and there's no buildup of interest.

It's the same thing when the TV writers went on strike a few years back. So many shows were off the air for a while, and viewers realized there was a lot more to offer than the same TV shows. Many of those shows that were off the air, never regained their fans back.

Same thing applies here, and it's not about being "butt hurt" (what are you, 14?). And not everyone has the chance to switch to a provider that offers CSNNW. It's cheaper to have Dish (for me) and in some cases (where my uncle now lives), cable isn't even offered since he lives in a remote area.

S

Smile contest winner, haters

I actually worked with his son years later. Apparently old Rod Anders was a dick

I heard similar opinions of old Ramblin' Rod too.

If dish is cheaper for you, that's on you to make the decision not to get Comcast. Call them up and use dishs prices to get the deal you want from Comcast. I'm starting to get the feeling you really never took business 101.

what about the 37% of Oregon where comcast isn't available? Should those customers take business 101 classes to help?
