How does this end

Again I think it was just a teammate thing. My guess is nobody was going out to dinner with him.

Still think they need Paulie and Jorge to take Alex for a little ride into the local swamp.....

Seriosuly , you think I or other owners are that naive?

Shit for starters, I'll try to stick with more modern era Owners, than elder Monumental fixtures of the dead ball on Era, like Connie Mack, John McGraw.

Hell you mean you never read about Ban Johnson, going after his many nemesis before any of us were born? That WAS the norm. His nemesis BTW- were Boston, the Giants, Bums, Phillies, and Pirates Owners?

Lets see, we could be here all day, or night:

Charlie Finley, in more ways than you could imagine....

O'Malley only versus the Giants, with no love by any Bums Ownership since the usual Dick Williams led charges of on the field battles. You may blame it on Durocher or Marichal or Stoneham's fault. You could liken the trio of O'Malley, Finley, Stoneham, to FDR, Churchill, and Stalin, you cannot compare much other than to say, FDR and Winston could not stand Stalin or what he stood for in WWII; yet both knew they'd have to team up with the Fascist ASS Stalin, to finish off Hitler. The 2 already knew Stalin was a killer of more of his own people than Hitler would any and all, persons....BTW- O'Malley and Stoneham did NOT go out for dinner or drinks when Marichal clobbered Roseboro...!!

The Singing Cowboy now, never ever had a bad thing to say about any other Team, Nation or Owner...this man had more class than any owner in baseball, perhaps, or so said Reggie. Doesn't mean he was the best owner ever, only he had world class.

Bill Veeck, seriously who DID he ever say he liked? Oh yeah, Bill opened up baseball to a pastime camaraderie than most, yet he had his likes, and strong dislikes too. Ask the Twins how well Veeck treated them...! LMAO, seriously you thought Veeck would cease a feud b/t both Teams long before his tenure to take the torch...?

Marge Schott never had a nice thing to say about any other Team, period....! She made her Saint Bernard shit on the Visitors side of the field.

We could do this all night long. You want to know about Ass Hole Owners who have treated theirGM's and/or players worse than any other, you'd have to look at Hank Greenberg's year as a Buc.

Just because Turner was a well polished TV man, sharp, witty, he knew what buttons he could push for any desired effect. Not all owners are like Turner was. In other words, yes only King George picked Fist Fight in Elevator's, for good press, and one pissed off Owner, on Media tho' wasn't it, or did he do Kung Fu on the entire Hotel????LMAO..

Charles Finley, O'Malley, Veeck, Schott....?...
Sorry Matt, I don't see a QUOTE comparable with Hank's personally disparaging and belittling of a rival team and fan base........ummm.....I'll try and make it easier on you to avoid any more five minutes of fog.....

How about in the era of color TV....GIVE ME A COMPARABLE QUOTE to Hank's from some other MLB owner......please leave out Marie Antoinette.
lmao!

Ban Johnson.....John McGraw....
Try again.....no, never mind...stick with the deadball world.

Hey you change the rules as you go along? You never mentioned the era of color TV prior.

Yet, Finley, O'Malley, Schatt, Veeck all lived and owned their teams during the early era of COLOR TV's......

We got the middle class Color TV's in most houses in the mid 60s, here's a link to edumacate you....!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Color_television

C'mon now, you also never asked me for quotes, yet I doubt you can recall the numerous wars with Finley and the rest of the league, Veeck too, Schatt, and O'Malley, not to mention the Giants owner.....there's a ton of lip and hatred amongst these Owners, you simply asked me to name Owners who did as much.

Actually all these listed less Schatt, did more for MLB, and had no problem warring with other owners AND MLB at the same time. Steiny Kidz, was but a one time little rant, goes un-noticed, compared to these Owners, less Schatt, were always making headlines. Now go lay down with a glass of warm milk.

Keep in mind, you said "I could chew on your leg once in a awhile", and you may do the same, just don't slobber on the Rocky Carrol Cowboy Boots......:cowboy::emotions::cheers:

Matt, when I was responding (post 11) to another post which mentioned Hank, I said about him:
"I did like his little Red Sox tirade". Then I gave it - here it is,

"Red Sox Nation?" What a bunch of [expletive] that is," he said in an interview with The New York Times' Play magazine. "That was a creation of the Red Sox and ESPN, which is filled with Red Sox fans.

"Go anywhere in America and you won't see Red Sox hats and jackets, you'll see Yankee hats and jackets. This is a Yankee country. We're going to put the Yankees back on top and restore the universe to order."

You then responded by saying:
What did you expect Him to say. Any Poster here would of said as much, on all fronts.

So, you can't provide any other public statements -quotes from some other mlb owner ....yes I'm sure there have been and are owners and teams who don't like each other..... And I'm well aware of when color TV appeared in households...... You needed to once again reach back to an era when it was normal to say things such as they refuse to play with black players......

......yep, "well said Matt", you really showed how Hank's remarks are not rare or unique in today's world.
You were the one who volunteered an opinion implying his comments weren't rare or unusual.....but you weren't thinking in terms of an OWNER or even a "part" owner.
You goofed. It's okay....we all do on occasion.
.….lmao.
And yet you have not come up with a similar quote.....from an OWNER.

Looks like a case of you needing words (quotes) more than actions. lol..

"Well said Matt". Lmao

All in fun.
I never said Hank's words were earth shattering, I just found them kinda refreshing.

Yep, Hank's remarks are only par for the course, or his defense of his lack of putting together a dominating contender of a Team. Did you not think Hank had to say as much, to cover his own ass??? and failures???

I DON'T need to come up with any quotes, which honestly were a helluva lot more bombasting in decades prior. No need to do your homework for you, LOL, no offense blg. I don't need to recite what we all have heard and have seen, in decades past, from much classier Owners than Hank. Hanks tirade IMHO is no more than a temper tantrum, in defense of his team, what fool would not do the same?

Again, you may google away all you want, and you will find link upon link, of a Life Less Ordinary. Regardless of the Dead Ball era. In all Honesty, one MUST go back to Ban Johnson, the Highlanders original Owner, and Creator of the American League. Therein, you will find, dirty, crooked, politicians, cops, mayors, all to keep Ban out of NY. Do you think that was a cake walk or a simple temper tantrum?

No Ban was more like a Nuke, with his battles against the Crooked Machine. Hank is more like a Black Cat Fire Cracker.....!!!

Yep.....!

...yes, it was "well said" ...you never learn, do you?

No, I have learned.....no similar public quote from a contemporary or the recent relative past was submitted.....after a blusterous response saying "what did you expect him to say".
Well, what should/would/could we expect the owners of Tampa,Balt,Toronto to say?

After all, they were racking up more WS titles than the Yanks those past few years.........bwaaaaa haaaaaaaaa......har...har.....haaaaaaaa.....

Oh yeah ➡ "Well said!"..... bwaaaaaah haaaaaaa errrrrr....har.....ha
All but a comparable QUOTE (from a "recent" owner).....Lmaoooo.

Instead we got five minutes of fog. lol

"well said"
