I got a taste of communal living in the 60's in CA. and discovered it wasn't just a place for free love and chicks. I loved sports and played very competitive baseball, but was told I must give it up for common time amongst the commune. All things common.
They basically taught a doctrine that went against my spirit and intelligence, and that was to get" the mass to do all things the same". Conformity! Mass Transit, Mass Medical, Mass followers of a few.
I thought it was a bunch of Bull Shit because I was competitive and had an independent creative side of me that I wanted to explore, which is why I probably wanted to see what this commune life was all about, and again chicks. It didn't take long for me to bolt because I saw that it was to governing for me and those that followed were giving up a side of them that took away their synergy, privacy and independence.
The funny thing is because of playing lots of competitive ball I was always a proponent of the TEAM CONCEPT, "Together Everyone Accomplishes More" with the goal of kicking winning and kicking some ass.

I dislike politics because of lobbyist, money, lack of term limits, and the enticement for both sides to grow a huge government that want us all to conform.
