I don't think Chauncey is on the hot seat. His ass is still ice old. Cronin ain't going to fire a guy with this roster of rookies, even if he really deserves it.
right, but if chauncey being here is going to delay the development of the young guys, he needs to be on the first plane outta town. hard for us to truly gauge this without observing practices/shootarounds/etc.

I think Chauncey is on the hot seat. There's too much talent on this roster to be this bad. They just paid Stotts for two years not to coach...not sure they want to do this again and pay two coaches but they should in my view

Blazers had a pre-game special of all the cool stuff Chauncey does for the community when he's not coaching the Blazers. He seems like a very nice person, and that's all Jody Allen needs to see.

Gunning for draft picks and lots of smiles. There's no way Billups gets fired over X's & O's. The Vulcan suits can do trades, drafts & cap space, but they are completely clueless about NBA coaching.

I think Billups needs to go, and the sooner the better. Give Brooks the reins for now, get some player development coaches like Vanderpool, a shooting coach who just works with Scoot, and cast a wide net for our next head coach.

I feel like Scoot and Shaedon are setup to fail. With no offensive scheme, Scoot flounders and Shaedon wastes away in the corner far too often rather than keeping him on the move and encouraging passing. Our assists are abysmally low and it is because we have the same offensive scheme (or lack thereof) we had we Dame, everyone stand around until Dame (or now someone else) does something.

I'm finding the Blazers painful to watch.

I'm honestly shocked how close the game was last night and feel like if we had a plan, we could have won but as long as Billups is coach, I expect piss-poor performance.
This. So much this.

Actually I change my mind.. I was wrong..

Fire Chauncey and everyone involved!!!

The reason is, theres salvagable peices here... n this is preposterous...

took me 3 games to turn on whats going on here..

I dont like the shot distribution in the offense whatsoever... this is UNWATCHABLE

MALCOLM BROGDON SHOULD BE STARTING..

why the f**k is Malcolm Brogdon only getting 26mpg? are we just blatantly tanking?

15FGA's and 0 FTA's in the first half for Sharpe and Chauncey calling him Devin Booker after the game...
(and Sharpe was much better in game 3 fwiw)

and then 16FGA's from Camara in game 3 broke my mental..

this is a shit product! u cant fool me!

N the start to the season for Scoot has been an unmitigated disaster... Every part of what this first 3 games looks like --- A Thompson Twin woulda been better at what their asking him to do...

Now its unfair to judge rookies til after their 3rd season, but conceptually, the sort of puzzle peice their asked to fit --- Look at how well the Thompson twin in Detroit is playing for them... The Blazers woulda been so much better off with that..

n also the Simons injury is obscene but also this is just a preposterously bad way to start the season.

I actually legit quit. like i dont wanna watch this shit. n to me the biggest fuckup does relate to not just FEEDING AYTON THE BALL...

Chauncey wants to get too cute... All this get all the perimeter players going....

FEED AYTON THE BALL... n let these perimeter players get in where they can... this whole shot distribution is beyond retarded.. This isnt how Scoot should be used either... Brogodon should be playing 40 minutes a game...

how can anyone who says "were trying to win games" argue for Brogdon getting 26mpg given our current results ont he floor.. but its whatever..

Ya know whats the most watchable thing about the blazers to me.. the hope that moses brown comes in for garbage time.. and that Ayton makes $35,000,000 a season..

I feel bad for Ayton but he's hilarious n im glad to see hes laughing and always calling people out for bullshit..

but thats what im often left with thinking watching this blazers team

"at least Ayton gets paid half a million dollars per game to put up with this bullshit"

thats the primary thought that reoccurs in my mind watching the blazers so far this season

The last 2 games, it has felt like this team is establishing a new identity.

Tonight, I was thrilled with how they were defending and the effort.

Chauncy needs to keep the team engaged like this for the rest if the season... but for tonight- Im pleased

I was at the game tonight and CB is very animated and up and down court side constantly. Saw him roll his eyes more than once. He isn’t phoning it in.

I think he knows it’s do or die as a coach with this team. I also think he was the engine behind moving from Lillard. That’s speculation but I truly believe he didn’t want his coaching career predicated on how great Lillard was

I’m just going to say it….the dude up there ^bxd or whatever is really stressing me out by not simply typing “AND” and just going with “N”. It’s hurting my brain.

I've eaten my crow egg omelettes already. I'm going to cheer for Chauncey to have a winning season
I Hope they didn’t see you take the eggs. Crows are highly intelligent, and if they saw you then I regret to inform you that they are likely planning their revenge. So don’t get too comfortable because eventually I do believe it will be….MURDER

I have stated from the beginning to give him 3 years. I still think he needs a little more than that at this point beings really he only has one true year under him at this point.
Not sure you should be eating crow just yet?

You can cheer all you want but if he's giving our young guys enough touches and time to develop, we aren't winning shit. The reason we won the last three and might win again on Sunday is because these guys buy into what Chauncey is teaching them and we have vets backing that up (along with an epic meltdown from Toronto from three which is totally out of character for that team). We're still not good enough that we should be favored in any of the next 17 games after Memphis on Sunday and we might not be favored in that one.

I don't know what roster you think you're looking at but this isn't a playoff or play-in roster, this is a rebuilding roster and it will be further gutted by the trade deadline. Look to the future and expect Chauncey to do the same. He should be judged on where Shaedon and Scoot are at the end of the season compared to the beginning and he should be judged on if the roster as a whole (especially Ayton) is still playing hard and if they've started to play smarter as well. That won't equal a winning record and it probably won't equal more than winning every fourth game.

Yeah, I've got to admit, there certainly should be NBA coaches on a hotter seat than Chauncey who should be fired first.

I see a change in Billups this season. Much more intense and demanding of his players. I think lillard leaving helped free him up to be himself. He couldn't really go after guys for poor defense when he knew the leader of the team played poor defense and he was not really comfortable criticizing him. Also, he knew they were tanking the last two seasons, but this year he really wants to win games. Overall, for me, this is a welcome development. But I'm a little worried he might be overdoing it at times now. Last night it seems he was criticizing Ayton as Ayton walked off the court after a great comeback victory. Bad timing and I also suspect that Ayton is one player who reacts a lot better to positive feedback.
I should say I think he will find a good balance; he is still learning.

There are a lot of ways to define a winning season. Sounds like you're not too stoked about the progress but you can doubt all you want. I'm going to cheer. Your reason for us winning 3 in a row in my view IS a reason to cheer. Buying into what coach is preaching. Can't ask for much more. We're not winning a championship this season but we just may be a playoff team if we keep playing defense. When you say you don't know what I'm looking at, well, that's obvious. I'm looking at how we're winning with defense. I've had Chauncey on the hot seat for a long time now. I've no longer a reason to feel that way. Choices. I've had enough tanking at this point

I think I said it before, maybe even in this thread, Chauncey was coaching to a system, Terry was coaching to roster. When you try to win short term (as the Dame teams were), Terry's process is the right one. Chauncy's system did not work on a Dame led team, especially with the roster construction that Joe inherited. This is the first year we can really judge Chauncey, he has a young team with a roster built to his system. If this does not work(*) - he is the problem.

(*) does not work in this case does not necessarily mean winning on a rebuilding team, but competitiveness and growth from the young ones. Chauncey knows that and you can see it.

Side note, we have seen last year at the start that the Blazers had reasonable defense at the start of the year, Dame went down at the start of the year and only played 5 games of the first 10, the Blazers defense was decent there. He came back, the Blazers started losing some of their defensive players like Winslow and Nurkic and the defense went down. This year, the Blazers only obvious minus on defense player, Ant, has only played 1 game, they upgraded defensively the center, forward and backup PG positions, it's not a surprise they look a lot better defensively, Chauncey has players that can work in his system.

Biggest issue with Chauncey, still, is half court offense. It is just not very good, imho.
