Okay I'm thinking after the next loss after Boston but I want to know what you think.

I have a hard time seeing Nate canned mid-season. Too much respect between him and Paul.

Who the fucks cares? Firing Nate is not going to help these guys from falling down while driving to the basket, passing the ball 10 feet over someone's head, getting stripped under the basket, or missing a lay up. Although I am sure Nate would love to be fired to get away from this shit.

Care about progress. It's the start if rebuild.

The Vulcans love Mr Sonic. It will take a lot for him to get fired, IMO.

I think he's gonna get canned. Tonight's loss was the tipping point. But he'll probably finish out the road trip.

I wonder if the coaching search this offseason will go like the GM search has.

He'll finish the season, then that will be it, by mutual agreement.

A new coach can change a lot. These players have been good on other teams.

i think he means progress is getting rid of the current coach. Step 1.

Some of these players have been good under Nate too. Sure go ahead and don't re-sign him in the off season. But like with most teams when things go bad, the coach gets blamed and the players make excuses. I get that Nate won't be back next year and it's time to move in a different direction. But it laughable to think this is a coaching problem. Yet every day that seems to be the conversation.

The season is over. Keep Batum and LMA and a couple young players and trade every other expiring player. They all gave up. Trade for as many draft picks as you can and don't take back any bad contracts. Otherwise keep them all and don't re-sign them.

The team sure looks better without Roy..........

I get that and I am saying that will not be progress. Better players will be progress. Without that I don't give a fuck who is the coach they will not be better.

Bringing in a new coach when you can't even practice isn't gonna do much this year. Might as well wait tell the off season and get us a nice 9-12th pick.

Bringing in a new coach accomplishes one very important thing. It allows younger players like Smith, Williams and Babbitt to see if they fit with LA and Batum. Nate wont do that because he is trying to win and save his job. An assistant like Canalas would though under the instruction of upper management

And no GM to hand him his walking papers and conduct a search for a new coach. With no GM to do the dirty work, I don't see Paul having the balls to fire Nate himself. Maybe he can get Larry Miller to do it and call it a business decision.

BNM

The Blazers should give him a lifetime contract to inspire him.

if he goes 0fer the road trip, he just might get shitcanned

If only this team had more scrap and made their shots... I'm sure Nate tells them to, but they just won't listen! Why won't they listen????

The key to that is who is getting traded. If they can't make any trades while keeping their cap flexibility this summer, then I doubt Felton and Crawford will be happy sitting on the bench when they want to show case their ability to other teams. That would be a nightmare situation for Canalas. And if they do trade them then Nate would have no choice but to play the young guys.

Either way firing him mid season is bullshit. It says "yeah we screwed up with the players we got you, but sorry you are the one that is fired".

You might as well wait. It accomplishes nothing to do it now.

Plus we'll get a higher lotto pick with him at the helm. Yay!
