Science How many minutes will Hansen get in his rookie season?

Hansen doesn't deserve to be playing G-League minutes, that's for sure. The man is already a pro. It's obvious watching him play. He has the footwork and agility and smarts to adjust defensively to the NBA. If you LISTEN to the other players and coaching staff, he's improved vastly since Summer League and that means he's going to be even more jaw-droppingly good out there. He dominated the court and headlines in SL. If he can do that with lower tier players against lower tier players, just imagine when you surround him with the upper tier players. He's going to shine like the Sun! DC, look out! He's also got more stamina by far than DC.
Sigh……

He’s “already a pro”
He’s “jaw droppingly good”
He “dominated the court”
He “did that against lower tier players, imagine against upper tier players”

Wow! Setting yourself up for a letdown FAMS!

True, I'm not saying he's not going to have challenges, but I still think what he's shown in his whole career thus far and his recent showings and apparently from the talk through his time on the team this summer in practices and workouts and then now in training camp, I think we are going to see something truly special on the court. Imagine Jockitch, but taller, faster, possibly even higher IQ? He lacks the experience of Jockitch, but I think has more offensive abilities I think it's going to be a spectacle. Jockitch, is autocorrect disaster, but I like it. I'm sure players get it frequently.

“Shown his whole career thus far”
“Taller,faster higher IQ than Jokic”

What the hell man? This is worse than trolling if that’s possible.

Sure. It would be boring if we agreed about everything.
Stop standing up for this new dude tossing around these expectations that won’t be met. Then every game we have to hear bitching about how we wasted a pick on him. Give the kid time to grow and learn the game. He’s gonna have 2 amazing plays and then 20 bad ones. And there is nothing wrong with that.

How many games will it take HCP to gas light us into believing he always was a fan of Hansen?
Dude I’m a huge fan of this kid. Was blown away by his court vision, handles and dimes. Loved what I saw from him in summer league. Rooting for him with all my heart. Just don’t like players be set up unrealistic fans who will then shit on them when they don’t deliver to their standards. Give this kid 3 or 4 years please. Down with this kid since Day 1 FAMS!

You're becoming the forum's Karen.

Looks like Rob Will won't be there to start the season. So, DC 30, H 18 is my early guess. DC has indeed slimmed down.
It will be as close to 50/50 on the minutes split as their foul situations allow. DC will start, but YH will play a lot of minutes. 26/22 is my guess.

Lighten up Johnny - its all just various posters personal preference.

You prefer to have low expectations and then not be let down. Happens every year with your win predictions and comments and such.

Some fans prefer to have overly optimistic expectations. Other prefer to just be as realistic as possible. There's no right or wrong way to do any of that. People can have whatever expectations they want and react however they want. Also you have a unique personal and professional involvement with the team so makes sense you may want to be more level headed. Many of us follow the Blazers for brief periods of personal entertainment and are fine being super positive or super negative. In the big picture for many of us its just one of the hundred things going on in our lives.

I normally prefer to try and be realistic - but sometimes get an itch to be super negative or super positive.

Because of necessity because RW is out and DC will pick up fouls?

Yang Hansen bought a used BMW X5 to celebrate passing his driver's test, according to news reports from October 20, 2025. The rookie Portland Trail Blazers player can now drive in the city after getting his U.S. driver's license. #frugality

I just don't know what the team is trying to do. He seems to be the only C after Clingan that they want to play. I could see him getting around 15 to 20 minutes a game. Hopefully that will work but I think it will likely be very hard on Yang and won't be great for our level of play on defense which according to everyone is the key to our remaining competitive.

Maybe the plan is that when Clingan sits, the go to lineup is a small ball unit with the front court being Deni and Tou. The one gaping hole on this roster is backup C. Obviously when everyone is healthy Rob is a great guy at that position but how many games do we get out of Rob?

I guess I'll predict 12 minutes per game for Yang this season with him only playing in like 50 games because he's playing a lot with the Remix... at least that's what I hope for.

I think against certain teams, Chauncey will want to go small like you suggest. Not only going small but having your best 5 players in the game at the same time. Right now, that includes Jrue. Shae, Grant, Deni, and Tou. Against teams that shoot a lot of 3s, I don't see an issue. They can all run, and all cover the perimeter. And it's not like our traditional centers will be grabbing a lot of long rebounds.
