For me....it was HORRIBLE! Not only do we lose on a 3 at the buzzer by Griffin, but the Beavs lose at the end after Ryan Nall fumbles! Just a terrible, terrible evening!

With that said now that I've had a day to think about it I'm not too upset at the Blazers loss. It took a 3 at the buzzer by Griffin to beat us. I can live with that.

Who's in the World Series? Yankees and Bears? Just watch that tonight and you'll feel better.

I was very bummed, but as much as I hate the Clippers and Doc Drivel, I thought they played better than us across the board and deserved the win. I think Blazers were lucky to even be in the game. Clippers have improved their system and every player I saw played hard for the whole game. Let's see if they can keep it up.

Totally agree with this post.......ohhhh thats right you have me on IGNORE, so you won't see this. Keep it up.

I was ok with it. I wasn't ok with some of Stotts' decisions.

I think that plays into the mentality issue I was talking about. Stotts is a good coach, but like the young blazers he gets nervous and falls off at the end of games. The Blazers need a coach who can call the right plays to get close wins.

Me at 5:30 this morning:

Still haven't changed the station on my iHeart. Wanted to avoid sports (except this forum) basically all day because last night's games were so depressing.

The main thing to remember is to stay away from the S2 asylum the night after a tough loss. I would like to make it at least 24 hours before checking in, but I seem to need my lunacy fix well before that or I get the jitters.

Odd to say it, but I think Meyers might actually have been useful last night. Again and again they posted up Griffin just because he could bump his way to within 3 feet of the hoop and throw in an ugly hook or layup. The only player with any heft was Nurkic and he was saddled with fouls. Aminu and Davis are very good defenders but they're wiry at best. (And Meyers can actually play half-decent post D - he's just not so good at team/help D.)

I love Teodosic, but I think the Clips might have benefited from him going down. They're keeping it simple and playing a lot of isolation, and they have a big sturdy front line that can bully most teams. Without Teodosic their D is top-notch too.
(Annoying that Austin Rivers appears to become a half-decent player. Also annoying that they hit just about every 3 they threw up there.)

I benefited from Sly’s sister going down before! #BAM

This happens. An asshole makes a shot with 0:00 left and there is nothing that could rectify the situation. Actually, I would never think Blake Griffin would be a long range jump shooter and be used in that play.

In this scenario Teodosic is a lot better off than the imaginary sister. And that's even if it was a career ending injury.

As no doubt has been discussed in the game thread, it also took CJ missing two FTs, which is pretty unheard of. (One of them was earlier.)

Question: did they run any post-ups for Evan Turner last night? Seems like his effectiveness has declined a little in the past couple of games and I'm wondering if the reason is fewer post-ups.

It's science.

Abstract: Basking in reflected glory, in which individuals increase their self-esteem by identifying with successful others, is usually regarded as a cognitive process that can affect behavior. It may also involve physiological processes, including changes in the production of endocrine hormones. The present research involved two studies of changes in testosterone levels among fans watching their favorite sports teams win or lose. In the first study, participants were eight male fans attending a basketball game between traditional college rivals. In the second study, participants were 21 male fans watching a televised World Cup soccer match between traditional international rivals. Participants provided saliva samples for testosterone assay before and after the contest. In both studies, mean testosterone level increased in the fans of winning teams and decreased in the fans of losing teams. These findings suggest that watching one's heroes win or lose has physiological consequences that extend beyond changes in mood and self-esteem.

As a fan if the sport I enjoyed the game even though we lost....it was a great matchup....the Clips won this one on a hail Mary shot....I can live with that...keeps my Blazers hungry and ready to beat them next time...

Hail mary? Griff got those 'tootsies' pretty set. lol.

No worse than all the other several close losses we will have this year. But we will go through the same process, rinse repeat. I don't expect major revelations this year.
