cause that guy looks like he might be an excellent 3rd wheel...

He is gone at the end of season and Sacramento will not make playoffs anyway. If you fancy 2-3 months of Rudy Gay here, pretty much any offer we can come up with will be good enough. Giving them Aminu would be overpaying. Evan Turner would be fair, we would get rid of that contract but only get a few months loan in exchange.

If we are going for Cousins then getting Gay is overkill in terms of scoring. If we get Noel or someone alike, it makes sense to shop for someone like Gay. I would prefer to talk Utah into giving us Hayward though, a better player who is in similar situation i.e. unlikely to opt in at the end of season. Utah will be borderline playoffs team though so they won't do this.

I think he could be nice, but Stotts would have to teach him how to play a team sport though.

I think OKC is talking with the Kings about a top 15 protected pick in 20?? for Gay, so his price is not high.

If it's that low then we should be all for it. We will likely be in the playoffs and he could be a good option.

Aminu and Turny are already fully grown.
Aminu is 26...Turner is 28......Rudy Gay is 30....that's where I see the difference...and both Turner and Aminu are defensive minded players...Gay doesn't play defense and likes ISO ball

I love the draft and hate giving picks up for expiring deals.

He obviously is having a hell of a year, and his experience would be great to have in the playoffs. I could see Cleveland's pick if we got something else back in return, even if we had to add Pat.

That was my thinking and even on an expiring contract put him in a winning situation and he might want to stay. We still lack a legit 3rd option on offense and its a glaring weakness once dame and cj start getting trapped. If we can get one on the cheap why not do it?

Nobody will take Pat. He has literally no value because he is likely never going to be NBA quality.

Kings have been trying to move Rudy for awhile now....no bites...he's playing for a job this season.
JJ Hickson looked like a starter with us in his contract year too.....Gay has not made the Kings a playoff team even playing with an elite big man on his team

Not bad, but Id rather go for broke for something like this...

Dame/Collison/Quarterman
CJ/Crabbe/???
Harkless/Turner/Layman
DMC/Meyers/???
Plums/Zubac/Ezeli

Does that make us a contender?
We give Dame a legit backup. This allows CJ to play in is best suited position. I think that gives us one of the best starting lineups in the league and a bench that should be able to bang as well as get up and down the court. Sac, although thier win prediction sucks., Its gives them a bunch of young potential guys on decent contracts to build to the future with while shedding two of their largest contacts. Question is do the Lakers do it. It says the get more wins, but if Rudy walks then they dont get much at all. At the same time, Rudy could add some needed veteranship to that young squad.

The trade machine will provide a bunch more options after Dec 15th though right? Id love to work on trades that include Crabbe, Turner, etc.

Why exactly would the Lakers deal Ingram for Gay?

Cause IO want them to be stupid? lol. Maybe to shed some salary at the end of the season to make room to sign/extend a few of their other guys?
I dunno. I wanted to include Mozgov instead, but he isn't available...

How about this?

We roll out this:

Dame/Collison
CJ/Crabbe
Harkless/Turner
Noel/Meyers
Plums/Steinupload_2016-11-12_15-42-21.png

Gay has a reputation of being a cancer. Teams always get better when he leaves (see Memphis and Toronto).

Haha Orion! I love this one. Lakers give up Ingram,Nick Young and the other guy and receive Pat, Shabazy and Rudy Gay! I love the way you think my friend.

Your right though, it's tough to look at trades until everyone becomes available.

They only won 33 last year, so now they're only going to win 12? :)

Why would the Kings do that?

Aminu and Davis are on cheap contracts. Both still young. We could toss in a pick as well.

Collison is a free agent after this year. They have supposedly been trying to get rid of Gay for a while.

Why WOULDN'T they do that?

Why would the Kings do that?

That would be a good deal for them. They get two decent players on good long contracts while giving up on two players who will leave at the end of season anyway.
