<{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Blazers are proof that if you get lottery picks for about 7 years in a row, sooner or later you will be good. And they made a great trade and fleeced the Bulls.</div>Actually the Blazers haven't had 7 lottery picks in a row. They actually have only had their pick and drafted in the lottery 6 times in the last 22 years.
'86 Walter Barry (14)
'95 Shawn Respert (8)
'04 Sebastian Telfair (13)
'05 Martell Webster (6)
'06 LaMarcus Aldridge (picked 2nd by Chicago, traded to Portland for Tyrus Thomas and Viktor Khryapa)
'06 Randy Foye (6 - traded immediately for Brandon Roy)
'07 Greg Oden (1)
So its been 4 years in a row, but their 4th lottery pick (Oden) has had no impact on this season due to his knee injury.

Okay, stand corrected, but 5 lottery picks in 4 years is still a good haul. If you lose 50 games in a row for 3 straight years as the Blazer have, you are bound to have some really good young talent. So, that's all the Nets have to do, just lose big for a couple years, and get a young core for Brooklyn. Maybe they should blow the team up after all.
