How old and where were you when you had you first beer?

I was 19 and at Mcmenamins. My sister and her boyfriend ordered a pitcher. I finished my water and put some in my water glass.

21 on my birthday... alone... walking home from the convenience store where I bought a Henry Weinhart's. Alone... I had no idea you couldn't drink in public. Luckily, I wasn't caught.

My first alcohol was peppermint schnapps when I was 15. Walked to a park and, feeling invincible, picked shit with a high school jock. Lucky for me, it was before people didn't stop beating you until you needed an ambulance. He punched me 5-6 times and walked off (probably because his fists were sore) while I laid there and bled. Good times!

14 at a friend's 9th grade birthday party. Had a Coors Light because his parents for some reason let us leave the house and run around late that night. Didn't really drink much after that until college, where I had a fake ID at age 17 and was at the bars on weekends during the offseason.

First taste, wine at 8. First tipsy, wine at friends bar mitzvah's at 13. First drunk, grand marnier from parents cabinet, chugged half the bottle at once, threw up 1 minute later and Learned about the room spinning shortly after that. I drink socially now, but never really drink a lot, very rare for me to exceed three drinks.

In the late 70's drinking and driving was not as big of deal as it is now. My uncle always had a beer with him and I would grab a sip before he got out of the car. I stayed over one night and the big deal for me was that he was going to let me try to drink an entire beer. I might have been five and think I drank half an Old Style if that.

In contrast, my soon to be four year old and 5.5 yr old have never had soda.

My first taste of alcohol was at the age of 4 when my grandfather gave me a small shot of tequila as a deterrent. It worked like a charm as I immediately vomited it back up.

My next taste of alcohol was at the age of 15. It was an entire one of these

Had sips of wine and beer at younger ages but the first time I had more then just a small sip i was 11 and had half a glass of scotch.
First beer was when I was 13 and my brother and his friends had some 40s of old E and pabst and I drank with them.

When I was a little girl my father gave me occasional sips. My mother made him stop, I think because I liked it.

Of course, being Jewish, I always had wine, even if just a thimbleful.

I don't recall drinking beer in high school, the hippies pretty much stuck to pot and wine. In college there was a hofbrau near UC Berkeley where we used to gather after evening political meetings over a pitcher. And since I had political meetings about 8 days a week, that was a lot of pitchers. Back then places were far more casual about checking ID, which was lucky for me since I was 16. I had a memorable beer in a gay bar (they did check so I had a borrowed ID), my first venture to a gay bar (and I was still 16) with my crush Andrea.

I almost never drink beer now, guess I'm getting old (fuck I am old!) since it gives me gas.
