From Neil's interviews, fan opinion is clearly beneath him.

One way to get Paul's attention: cancel your season tickets!

Neil is the second most incompetent GM in Blazer history. Something has to give.

Protest at the practice facility during their press conference.

"How to get their attention?"

We could get needles and all pop our basketballs at the same second.

I have an 8-inch Ka-Bar knife. Will that work? Or is it overkill?

In all seriousness.....I don't know what the fuck is going to get Paul's attention at this point. He is just so out of touch with shit that it's painful.

One thing's for sure.....if this shit doesn't stop, Dame is gonna bail in FA.

We are 5 hours into FA and already we are buying torches and heading towards NO house?

It’s so funny; fans wanted to blow it up, then Neil starts free agency by dumping three rotational players, and you’d think he just murdered every fans pet. Why not just wait and see what the plan is before getting the pitchforks out?

Won't happen. We're the Cubs of the NBA; our title drought just hasn't reached that proportion yet. But the team and town are synonymous, and fans will continue to come to the RG to have a good time, even if management isn't really aggressively pursuing a title.

Basically, fans like me are the problem for fans like you, and there are probably too many of us for the pitchfork-wielders to make much of a difference.

I'm as pissed off at losing Ed as anyone, but it's kind of funny that the GM who acquired him in the first place was... Neil Olshey. Where was all this righteous rage when he traded Batum?

This isn't "blowing it up" though. It's "tinkering round the edges, getting slightly worse and giving no reason for optimism".

I don't know if i watch the Next Season. I'm tired of waking up in the middle of the fucking Night to watch fucking mediocre Basketball. But Lillard is my favourite Player and i love watch him...
Suggestion: find a second-favorite player on a good team.

“Getting worse”

How can you say this when the roster is incomplete????

I could understand giving Neil the benefit of the doubt, but this isn't about losing Ed Davis for pocket change. This isn't about signing some guy who really hasn't shown anything exciting in the NBA (and plays worse defense than Mike Penberthy).

And this isn't about the weird opinion of Portland that all of us assume free agents have.

This is about 2016. And 2017. And 2018.

Unless Collins has made a huge jump, showing he made Davis obsolete, then this is more fuel for the anti Olshey crowd. Unless Baldwin becomes a 6th man of the year level player, it's more fuel. Unless Moe actually shows effort from October on (instead of Feb on), it's more fuel. Unless Meyers retires, fuel. Unless Turner all the sudden stops being an inconsistent suck-fest every time he sets foot on an NBA court...you get the point.

These are all signings that Neil is responsible for. The draft picks I don't care one way or the other. Simons might be a good pick up, who knows. But they haven't done much to get the team in a better position for 3 years now. This last year, one of the big reasons why they won the division was due to injuries.

Not their own, but others. Minnesota and OKC lost players during the year (Butler and Roberson), and realistically were better teams than Portland. As much as we want to crack on OKC for Westbrook being a ball hog, a healthy OKC is better than a healthy Portland.

Sure, they might have a huge tax bill now, but for fucks sake Paul Allen is worth what, 18 billion? At least try.

I used to hate hearing fans say this, but we gotta stop wasting Damian's prime.

I hate saying this, but I’ve never seen this forum look more stupid than in the reaction to the past few hours. The Blazers were never going to be players in the early FA signings because they don’t have cap space. The big moves will have to be via TPE and trades. Those take longer to put together than FA signings because other teams are involved and they’re busy with their own FA signings right now. Also trades can’t happen during the moratorium so we’re not likely to hear anything until after the 6th. So maybe people should stop wetting themselves over these first cost cutting moves and realize this is going to take awhile.

I don't think that the people who are upset, are upset that they didn't get big name free agents, it's that they let Ed Davis go for *less* than the MLE. And then signed a scrub.

Now if they can magically pull off some kind of signing of TPE trade, then yeah, our reactions will look silly.

Thing is, none of the teams in the division got worse. Portland, as things are right now, have gotten worse.

I get that, but I think it’s a conscious choice on the Blazers’ part. They didn’t let a valuable player like Ed go simply because of the money. They have other plans and he doesn’t fit with them.

Make sure if you see anyone around town that works for Neil, make sure you boo and hiss at them. They are not welcome in our restaurants anymore.

They could egg all cars they see in valet parking lots.

You'll have to forgive fans who have long memories of "plans" that don't actually work out.

The summer is long. There’s plenty of time to organize mobs with torches and pitchforks if Olshey can’t pull this off. I’m just saying it’s not a good look for us to hang him before it’s even possible for the plan to be executed.

So if the Blazers don't make a trade by the end of July that improves the team, are you willing to change your tune?

If the TPE expires and there is no plan that materialize, I would. By then I still trust our management. This also means trusting Dame to give his "OK" to this move (letting Ed go for whatever reason).
