Last year Rudy really turned into a spot up shooter, but it seems to me that me is capable of much more. I think one of the things this team needs to get to the next level is to better maximize it;s assets. Rudy is one area where we can get something we need. He is a very good slasher and can go to the hole on the second unit.

Nate needs give Rudy more rope, let him run with Miller and give Rudy some decision making power. I believe that this alone will result in a couple more wins.

With so many youngsters, I think Nate is understandably tentative about giving some freedom to the kids, but I think Rudy is more capable of handling that freedom than some of the others and should be given the room he needs to grow.

Even in a limited role, Rudy noticably wore down last season. Call it hitting the rookie wall, or whatever, but he needs to show better conditioning next season for his role to expand significantly.

I hope he does it, because on paper he is better suited to being our top bench scorer than Travis. Outlaw is just too hot-and-cold to be the first option on the second unit.

I really like what Outlaw does for this team, but I do agree that Rudy should be the top scorer off of the bench. He really needs to learn to be confident in creating his own offense, though. He turned the ball over a bit on drives to the hoop when he hit the rookie wall, and he seemed to take less chances for the rest of the year after that. Of course, the team won a lot of games late in the year, so perhaps that is what last year's team needed to get the 4 seed.

Rudy's a great finisher but his handle is too weak to successfully dribble-drive through traffic. That's the conundrum. It makes him great for backdoor cuts and alley-oops (both of which I think Miller will be able to find him on), but not a good option for giving the ball to and having him create.

With his finishing and passing, he could be a real star play-maker if only he had solid ball-handling skills.

He needs to move without the ball. Rip Hamilton style. Get some easier baskets. Or run run run and have him fillin' on the wings!

This.

He needs a more defined role. First guy off the bench with starters minutes playing the SG with spot minutes at PG and SF.
