A-Rod is not only 6 HRs away from getting his $6M bonus for tying the great Willie Mays (which IMO he should immediately donate to charity) but he's also only 61 hits away from # 3000. I can't help but wonder how radio clowns ma & pa will announce these on the air when it happens or how Michael Kay will address it on the TV side. Keeping in mind that Kay & A-Rod are not exactly the best of friends.

Discuss.

How does s he get hits and homers from the defendant's table?

I'd agree with this, but will the Brothers Grimm do this?

I have to believe that attorneys for the Yankee organization are conferring with consultants, MLB and MLBPA counsels to find a solution for the good of the game. There could be a contract buyout (Yanx) in return for luxury tax discount (MLB and owners approved) and talk of a lifetime ban if the dealn isn't accepted (all sanctioned by MLBPA). ARod will need the cash to fight all the potential criminal and civil lawsuits that should be coming his way.

His latest admission where he said he can't play baseball w/o steroids tells me that he knowing committed fraud on his 2007 10 year deal as steroids were definitively banned from baseball.

Hey I'm really hoping the Yankees can find a way to get rid of this piece of shit. He should never be able to wear a MLB uniform ever again. But with that said, IF? & I'll answer my own question, If I'm one of the announcers I'd respond with complete silence as should the fans. That would send a HUGE message to this dirt bag.

Wouldn't that be collusion? I mean, I think he needs to be out of the game, but.....

What's not being discussed ANYWHERE that I've seen, is that we'll have a new commissioner coming into the picture.... He very well could like to make a name for himself... This could be a HUGE way to do so

Its not collusion is ARod takes the deal. Look, you tell him here is your buyout and stay away from baseball. Otherwise Bud's last act will be a lifetime ban or the new commish does it. Either way, if we ban you the Yanks don't have to pay you. MLBPA doesn't want a ban for "conduct unbecoming" not a good precedent for their union. I'm proposing a win-win-win if you can call this debacle anything but a complete disgrace.

Maybe, but if they bring him the deal that MLB, MLBPA, & the Yankees all agree to & A-Rod doesn't accept, wouldn't it be collusion though? Even if he accepted it, couldn't he still take it to court for that? Plus does the MLBPA allow for buyouts at all?

Its all done on the down low. If he goes public its denied and he's banned. This would be check and mate.

...tote, I'm thinking that your scenario, or one very similar to it, will play out sometime before the regular season begins...maybe during ST when his deteriorated skills will be fully exposed.
...in order for the insurance policy to reimburse the Yanx 80% of ARod's remaining salary it must be clearly shown that he is no longer physically able to play. Obviously the insurance company won't willingly fork over the money, but I think that in conjunction with ARod saying he's done, and if the Yanx saying he's done, and if a doctor also says he's done, it should be enough.

...this way, the only loser is the insurance company...Baseball wins, the fans win, the MLBPA wins, and to a degree, ARod also wins...and for all I care, he can just "fade into Bolivian". (Mike Tyson quote)

I am just really hoping that he never gets a chance to reach those milestones I mentioned in the OP. The only thing this guy should be rewarded for is being an asshole.

I hope so as well

Ha...great quote. Funny that he hasn't, he is still a pop culture icon.

Good point about the insurance, does add another wrinkle. I just don't think that the Yanks and MLB can afford the circus if he reports to ST. Does he need to prove he is PATP to Yankee medical staff?

The back page from one of the local NY newspapers the other day had a picture of the boss & it said, "If the boss were still alive his message to A-Rod would be.....PISS OFF!"

I think more than piss off....this would have been "Winfield 2.0 ON STERIODS" level of hate/anger. You'd have to convinceme that the Boss who ldnt put a hit out on this fucker.

Just for disgracing the uniform.
