How would you fix the bench?

Why would Cleveland make that trade?

From what I've read, that team is in dire need of a trade. Deng is upset at the shitty culture in Cleveland. Varejao is has another year left on a fairly large contract and Jack has three more years left on a decently sized contract. Their team is horrible. They clear two large deals off their books. Mo is opting out this summer and they get a couple young guys. I don't know. I'd throw in CJ too honestly. They'd probably want to unload Waiters but that would push it to around 19 million and I don't think we could do it.

Isn't the idea of a trade to improve the Cavs, so Irving doesn't leave? I don't see how bringing in a bunch of bench scrubs from Portland tells Kyrie that Cleveland is serious about getting better.

As for Waiters ... you hate Mo Williams, right? Waiters is Mo w/out the ability to get assists.

Did I include Waiters? No. I don't like him. I said they'd probably want him included, in which case we couldn't do it.

So Cleveland would want to give up Jack, Verejao, and hopefully Waiters for a bunch of crap back from Portland? And Portland would be able to say no thanks, we don't want Waiters? Is this a BigGameDame proposal?

I love people who never propose anything, they only sit back and criticize others.

This is what happens in Imaginary Trade Land. My idea earlier tonight was to sit CJ and give Barton his minutes for a week or so.

they might make it if they keep stinking it up by the deadline, and realize Deng won't want to resign with them, so they have to blow it up again. although Varejao is injured again, i think.

1. first trade:http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=lx4asnm, leonard, claver, crabbe for Hawes, can substitute trob and watson for claver, leonard

2. 2nd trade: http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=mrxbhdz mo and wright for Ariza. can add barton also, can add watson and take back maynor.

3. If can't do those, try this http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=mjwcquv or this http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=lx4asnm to get Sanders and Ridnour.

4. Would Hawes and Ariza be willing to extend with us and do we have enough money?

5. also what does management think about Sanders motivation and dedication?

I would try that too, he would sure give more length on defense. I guess it depends on what Stotts is seeing in practice.

So do I get to make fun of you for proposing that we play Barton more?

Bring Clyde, Jerome and Buck back.

Seriously. Even at their age. They would give more than this group.

I guess you could. Barton's accomplished more as a SG than McCollum, though. He can't do worse than CJ at this point. :dunno:

He's accomplished more because he's had a full 1.5 seasons under his belt. I think some of you guys are being extremely hard on a guy who missed most of the first half of the season and I think most of training camp as well. He isn't in game shape. He hasn't had much time to learn the offense, and he looks like he's pressing. It's hard to jump onto a team that's competing for a top-four spot in the west and find your role halfway through the season.

I agree that he's playing poorly, but it behooves us to get him up to speed because we need his scoring. I'd rather go through the growing pains now so we can get him ready for the playoffs.

When Mo is on the floor, CJ et al hardly even TOUCH the ball? I wish they kept a stat on dribbles per possession. Mo would lead the league. Most of his coming of the useless variety where he neither moves forward or backward. Just laterally to a horrible shot attempt.

There is definitely something to this. This is filtered by players that play less than 25 mins a game (essentially bench players)

McCollum has reached a new low.

WS/48 of -.002. He's in rare company.

This thread is about fixing the bench. Sit CJ; improve the bench.

Just FYI

Yes, we get it already. You've continually shoved his stats down our throats in a couple of threads. Move along, your point has been made. :) cheers big fella.

I think Tracy McGrady is available. Steve Francis, too. Throw in Allen Iverson and Chris Webber and I think we are set.

I think the bench could be fine but CJ is only getting his feet wet in the NBA and he's not Lillard. Guys need to step up, beileve me, I understand the collective panic attack from last year..this team is better.

Call up Pierre Jackson from stampede?

@blazerbanter: RT @IdahoStampede: #Stampede win 136-121. @PierreJackson55 sets a new franchise record with 58 points!!!

I like his game, it is the D league though where there is no defense played.

I agree with this, Barton has also played against more vets than CJ has. To me, he's earned it more and if he messes up, you go back to the rookie.
