Great analogy! You guys have done more to improve content on this site in the year I've been a member than any Blazer forum on the planet. To those who complain about access, the radio is free. Blazers games are always there. If these guys have offered to stream content for us here, what's to bitch about?

because the stream isn't of the game. If they offered a stream of the game (or hell, an option to BUY a pass to watch games online) I would. But they don't.

So a post game interview/press conference stream is whats offered. To me, that's getting excited over trinkets, when you once had gold bars.

The folks that offered this option on this site probably didn't work there 7 years ago. Start a thread with your concerns and I'm sure it'll take off but this thread offers good news, here and now and it's an upgrade.

What are the Blazers going to do once this contract is up? FSN/Roots isn't going to offer them anywhere near what comcast did, and comcast knows that they can just offer the same contract again and the Blazers are not going to pass up on big money.

So once again, the games won't be on TV. But hey, we get press conferences! Woo!

Cept that the IRS isn't part of the Postal service, like comcast is part of comcast sports nw.

It's more like finding out that the company that signed a contract with your favorite sports team hasn't agreed to sign a contract with two satellite companies because they're greedy and want you to use their cable system, now has offered you footage of a press conference and you're expected to think that's super peachy keen, and when you don't, someone gets mad at you for expressing yourself.
And in expressing yourself, you don't tell HIM to fuck off, or anyone in the company to fuck off, and still get your message deleted.

The next time a "huge announcement" is made by CSNNW, it should actually be the one that is 7 years late.

I pm'd you immediately after I deleted your message and explained why. I have since undeleted your message.

I approached CSNNW and asked if we could embed and stream their press conference feed. They did not come to us offering us "trinkets."

I made the "huge announcement." CSNNW and Comcast didn't make it. I was happy that I got this done. Like I explained, we are trying to expand and improve our coverage of the team. This is a small part of it. This is a small part to expand and diversify the streaming content offered on our site. As far as I can tell no other Blazer forum or fan site is offering regular streaming content. This is also part of my effort to add more multimedia features to this forum. I asked Denny to add the Twitter and Instrgram features to the forum.

I deleted your post because I felt it had nothing to do with what the thread was about. If you want to complain about someone complain about me. It was my idea, it was my asking CSNNW that got this to happen.

Again, I have since undeleted your post. If you want an apology, I am sorry. I contacted you via PM so we can have this conversation privately and not make it a public discussion.

If the forum decides that we as a group dislike Comcast so much that we will boycott any and all content from them I will abide by that but until that time I will look to add and provide content to this forum from any and all sources that I feel improves the Blazer coverage and discussions.

It's not even necessarily about all of the Comcast stuff. Sly has obviously worked hard to get this and was probably excited to post the extra goodies we would be getting. Then someone comes I'm here and takes a giant shit and decides to rehash things that have been brought up ad nauseum that have nothing to do with the people offering us this.

It's a total dick move

I do appreciate the effort for more streaming access and making it a better forum but at the same time I kind of agree with Julius. Comcast could have and should have already been doing something like this. Comcast is just stingy with everything related to the Blazers.

You guys are right. Fuck them and fuck me for trying to do anything around here.

The local CSNNW has nothing to do with the Blazers being blacked out. Because of changes in the Blazer's press policy we have no access to is the press conference. I'm trying to find an solution to this and CSNNW was gracious enough to provide one.

It takes time and work to do things like this. It's not easy for Denny to make it so this forum can embed and stream content but we do it for Courtside, The Court Report and now were trying to add the post game press conference. Yes, it sucks that a lot of us can't watch the games but instead of bitching why not focus that this might be a tiny step towards showing the Blazers and Comcast that streaming content is popular, it's wanted and it would be nice to have that option to watch games in the future. Or we could just pat each other on the back for telling people that have nothing to do with this to fuck off.
Wow bro. Didn't think my response warranted such a reaction, but hey it's your world I'm just visiting. Congratulations on this deal.

darn you, Bob, coming in like a rabble-rouser!11!

Seriously, this is cool.

We've hashed this out in other threads already but if this is your line of thinking on how things work you are grossly misinformed and just looking for the easy "I hate Comcast" excuse.

This is pretty cool. Thanks to our S2 overlords for getting this for us. And thanks to whoever at CCSNW for providing it. I appreciate it

Now about that monopoly.... ;)

Bro, if your mission is to come in here just to defend CSN, you will fail. State your business and step back, or join us in discussions about the Blazers.

yeah this will help not escalate things ***Feverishly searches for the most egregious "EYE ROLL" gif on the internet***

Yes, really. It's been 7 years (this being the 8th) without having a "deal" struck. That means it's been 7 years where the Blazers haven't been on my TV because comcast doesn't even try to sign a contract with dish or direct.

It's been 7 years people, with the vast majority of the games not being on my TV, and doubtful that anything will change once this contract is up. So pardon me if I'm not super excited about trinkets.

This. Fuck Comcast, won't watch their gracious pressers either. 7 YEARS!!!

Sorry sly, this isn't directed at you and your hard work you put in day in and day out to better this forum. Your doing great. There is just so much animosity that I carry towards Comcast that I can't bring myself to applaud them for graciously letting me stream the post game pressers after I have to watch the real game on sportscenter highlights. Just scorned and upset at not only Comcast but the Blazers management that signed this 10 year deal

Just how much is Comcast paying you for coming into this forum to defend those crooks?

You're not really understanding this are you?

I'd venture to guess that as the day wears on, such an obnoxious comment by one of their employees, would garner more and more heat, rather than it simmering down. Just one man's opinion though.

that said, I'm sorry your thread didnt as planned. Your hard work is very appreciated Sly.. for reals!

I have no mission to defend CSN but when I see misinformation, I'm going to call it out. I'm here to get in on some Blazer talk and this is one small step in increasing the partnership aspect of all things CSN/Blazers.

Hate "Comcast" all you want, but don't spout things like a dish deal doesn't get done because "Comcast" wants you to switch to their service to make more money.

That couldn't be further from the truth. CSN/Comcast/NBC (whoever you want to call it) would make WAY more money from signing a Dish and/or DirecTV deal than it ever will from the small % of people who switch providers to watch games. And those that do switch have NOTHING to do with the CSN financial bottom line.

What he meant and what he's explained before is that he works for CSNNW which is a division of NBC/Universal. Go on CSNNW's website and you'll see that he is an editor of sports content. He's a sports fan like us. He had and has nothing to do with the current contract between the Blazers and Comcast. Since all he wants to do is draw attention to the journalists on that site cover the area's sports teams, while he can't say it, if it were up to him he'd stream the games for free because that would draw more attention to his tiny area of Comcast. While the majority of us hate the current deal to keep teeing off on this guy and CSNNW is misplaced. I'm not defending them or the Blazers on this, just explaining what is going on.

I'm frustrated too, last year we had an opportunity to send in questions to Chris McGowan for him to answer. While I didn't think it was fair to heat him up over a contract he had nothing to do with, I specifically asked about the Comcast situation and what could fans expect from the next contract. Would the Blazers demand a streaming option so more fans can enjoy the games? My questions about the TV contract were completely ignored.

Lets be honest for a second, nothing is going to change before the contract expires. What we as fans need to do is start focusing on the next contract. To make reasonable informed demands and to do some real soul searching to the question that will be of most concern to the Blazers and that is what are we willing to pay per game to watch the team? You can bitch or we can demand that this never happens again.

I'm not arguing any points against him. I actually didnt say anything on this thread until that comment. My main point is when an employee of an already poorly looked upon company, makes an obnoxious comment, it probably will result in obnoxious responses.

Was better left unsaid.

Unsaid breeds more misinformation. Be angry, but be informed too.

As someone who has to deal with a lot of misinformation in my line of work also... I usually find better results by responding in an, at least, somewhat professional manner. My two cents.

So the real question that everyone wants answered is when can HCP and I have our own show and what kind of budget would we have?
