What's up with that? A husband and wife being advertised as a "reality team", doesn't that just reek as being unprofessional? Kind of lame too.

If a one was a realtor and the other a mortgage broker, then it would be a little fishy.

The folks that are responsible for leasing and managing one of properties in Atlanta are a husband/wife team. He had worked over 25 years with Ford before accepting their buyout. In his mind, it was too late in his career to get into (start) something else, so he joined his wife's realty firm. I've found them both to be quite engaging and they balance each other nicely in their respective roles. I feel confident in their abilities to manage my asset.

to me, it just seems like in a situation like this, the wife would be over agressive and the husband would be kind of a pussy. just seems like that. it seems so hokey and contrived "oh we're in love so that makes the best business team...ever!" kind of crap.

Monkeeing around aside, don't let ignorance get in the way of sound judgement, grasshopper. ;)

It just really sounds lame the way its set up, they are married yet are intimiately involved in each other's business and work life as well...seems disturbing for two people to be that connected to be married AND work with each other....arguments can carry over...feelings can get hurt...which is why I think it takes some kind of pussy whipped man to agree to do this.

Why can't they just be two independant agents and do their own thing? I'd feel weirded out if it were a husband and wife...it would seem almost cult-ish or something.

Hey, to each their own. In your case, just hire the blonde bimbo from San Fernando. I'm sure you'll get her full attention. :)

Thousands of couples work together. Think of all the familys owned and operated small business's.

I wish I was in on the Barack/Michelle realtor "team" plan. Unfortunately, I pay my mortgage, like a sucker.

Impressive, it actually took you a few seconds of thought on this one. You're one step closer to making every off topic thread in this forum your own soap box to slam our new government.

....And that's not an easy chore!

EVERY thread? Really? A tad defensive, eh JW? This was meant to be humorous.

I suggest you read the Moats thread and reassess your personal attack directed toward me. Or don't. Whatever. I do hope your dad had a safe trip to Oakland.

He did have a safe trip, and made it back last evening, thanks.

By no means was I being defensive, just stating that it seems as if a majority of the off topic forum has become your personal playground to rail against the government. That of course is your perogative, and that was my first and last ( oops, this is now my second) post calling you out on it. I guess more than anything I was suprised that even this thread could take a turn in that direction.

...And yes, I did see the humor in what you posted.

What gives with the constant blaming of other for personally attacking you? That might be the second most posted thing by you on these forums. I don't have an issue with you Papa, I've always liked your basketball posts which are always full of knowledge and level headedness.

But we will continue to disagree on the political views.

I have posted in 4 of the threads currently on the first page of the OT forum, and the only one I started was the one I just bumped. 2 of those threads, along with my posts, have literally nothing to do with politics, so I think you are a bit defensive in the way you called me out. That doesn't really matter, though. What you may be asking yourself is why the little amount I am posting about the administration bothers you so much that you would call me out on it. That is what stands out to me.

yeah, but these husband-wife teams are employees, not business owners for the most part....hard to see how much one would enjoy working with their spouse...seems a little christian fundamentalist or something.

Since pretty much all realtors are useless, this seems doubly useless.

Thanks dick  Im a real estate agent :devilwink:

My parents have been married for 35 years.
My dad is the Broker/agent
My mom is the agent
...they have been very successful

As long as they don't do it in my livingroom, I'm coo!

Married couples running a business together is not unusual. It does not mean there is something wrong with the man, unless you think there is something wrong with any man married to a competent woman.

But I'm not sure if you mean "realtor" or "reality couple".

I read a hilarious article on a medical practice run by a husband-wife doctor-nurse team. She was the doctor and he the nurse. The article was on how they constantly have to correct people.

Husband-Wife realtor teams seem different because some of them flaunt the fact that they are married as some kind of qualification in their ads.

also, why do realtors feel the need to put a picture of themselves on their business cards?

ADP . . . I know you are above this cheesey advertising and all . . . but in these tough economic times, people are going to try different angles to get market share.

They are using the fact that they are a husband and wife team to attract a certain cross section of the community . . . what is wrong with that? At least they are trying to increasae business and not giving up on the industry like so many real estate agents have.

I don't get your beef with this couple . . .

Theses are not new "teams", husband and wife realtor teams have been around for a while. I think its more about them flaunting their love than it being a real business than anything. Really really retarded, IMO. I've seen parent/child "teams" too....

Dude...alll those types of ads are trying to convey the message "We are a local, real family" rather than giving your money to the single middle aged dude working at "big bad Century 21."

Almost all businesses have some variation of that

edit: also, my Parents cards dont have their pic on them. I suspect why that happenes in real estate is because clients are going to a million open houses and meeting a million agents....gotta try hard to be remembered when the client decides which agent to call.
