Anyone have any thoughts on players we could possibly target in trades? (that would be cheaper than Crabbe and fill a need in the backcourt)

Off the top of my head, I wonder what these type of players would add (and if we could find them available for a trade of Plume and/or other prospects):

  • Ben McLemore
    • I doubt they want Plume with the logjam at 4/5, but maybe we could interest them in something
  • JJ Redick
    • Doubt they're open to moving him w/o a sweetener, but the Clippers are very thin up front now and they did resign Rivers and Crawford.
  • Iman Shumpert
    • Another inconsistent 3pt shooter, but Terry's system might help him out. Reputation as a + defender but somewhat inconsistent on the court. May complement CJ/Dame/Turners well though based on being used to not having the ball in his hands.

If we are just talking Free Agency then:
Gerald Green
Chase Budinger
Alan Anderson
Troy Daniels, restricted
Jason Terry
Wayne Ellington
Kevin Martin

Spencer Dinwiddie!

He's not a Crabbe clone by any means, and he's not going to do any playing at the 3, but we have enough players to do that. He hasn't shot that well in the NBA yet, but he shot very well in college and hasn't really had the chance. Of course he hasn't been as good as Crabbe, but apparently you're very very expensive when you are, whereas he can probably be had for the minimum.

Sure yuk but we are talking about a 2.7 MIL dollar signing here in that case. Of course not as good as Crabbe but not near 15 MIL worse. Gerald Green and Kevin Martin would still provide us with 3's at a fraction of the cost. It is a consideration by Neil. We will see which way he goes.

As far as 3-point shooting goes, Bryn Forbes has been killing it for the San Antonio SL team, but I bet they haven't signed him and probably don't have room, especially as they're bringing over some of their Eurostash players.

I would prefer the replacement be a SF vs a SG.
I want Turner to get all Crabbe's SG minutes, so that leaves Crabbe's SF minutes.

Harkless will get at least 24
Turner 16

So we just need someone for about 6-12 minutes a game. (Unless we play Harkless 30 per game) It could be Aminu, Montero, or Layman.
I am pulling for Montero with his long wing span, handles, and outside shot. Hopefully he has been in the weight room, because that is where the concern is....

But again we are talking small minutes, unless there is an injury, which then we would wish we kept AC.

But my pick is pat c. Looks different this year. Less like a bro and more like a pro.

Is he a free agent?

15 players at the moment. 14 if Crabbe isn't matched. Only have room exception.

Someone would have to take a room exception to just be a 15th man...
