Just to be clear, I mean Rudy Fernandez, not Rudy Gay.

With the new cap, Rudy Gay's contract is suddenly very reasonable. I wonder what Sacramento is looking for in return. Considering he has an opt out after next season, it shouldn't take much.

I wonder what sac would want for mclemore. He's similar to harkless but I'm not sure a second would be enough. If it is olshey should seriously consider it and let crabbe go.

Knowing Sacramento they'll want a lot because he is a "key cog in keeping Cousins happy" probably lol

Mclemore seems just like an Olshey pickup. Lottery guy that hasn't performed up to expectation that might flourish in a different situation.

I have wanted to pick him up for a while.... kinda like Turner...... but seriously it could lead to another Crabbe situation next summer.

If you pick up someone on the cheap that is good enough during the season to get a Crabbe-like contract, isn't that a win?

Depends on what we had to give up to get him.

Rudy Gay would be dynamite off the bench.

Stotts always gives second year guys a shot early in the season..did it with CJ, Crabbe and Leonard as well as Joel Freeland...Connaughton and Layman will get some burn...Layman will probably sub in for Aminu at times and Connaughton for Crabbe but my money is on Mo Harkless taking Crabbe's spot from last season for the bulk of the year

I have a feeling whomever we replace Crabbe with is going to be like buying a cut rate Lenovo lap top and telling yourself it has a good keyboard.

Mario Hezonja from Orlando. His stats from last year don't show it - but the guy is a good shooter.

Orlando's management may just be incompetent enough to give him up for cheap, based on recent deals they've struck.

Sasha Pavlovic is still in the league?

Hey, U forgot Montero!

He's got a battle with Napier in training camp...Napier is probably more polished

A battle for what? I think the PG project for Montero is over. At 6'7" and a 8'8" standing reach, he should be all wing this year. At least that is what he did in the D league. (I think) He has put on some weight but needs more.

They worked him out at point all last year...but he's a combo guard..the point is Montero has to secure a bench mob spot over him..we've got Connaughton to use at the 2 and Harkless now.

Stotts talked about it last summer...how they wanted to teach him the point guard position...add some length at the guard for matchups. Shawn Livingston is a good comparison as far as his length for the position

Whatever position he ends up in, he has natural ball handling and creative skills that most players just don't have. If he plays SG and can create a little....great.

If we lose Crabbe we'd have $2.7M in cap space which would open up this:

SAC Gets: Jerian Grant, '17 CHI 1st
CHI Gets: Mason Plumlee
POR Gets: Ben McLemore

Lillard (36) / Turner (12)
CJ (36) / McLemore (12)
Turner (18) / Harkless (22) / Aminu (8)
Aminu (20) / Davis (16) / Vonleh (12)
Ezeli (24) / Leonard (18) / Davis (6)

The Bulls would hang up on that call real quick.
