This is where I'm at. This team is committed on D in a way that none of our teams with Dame as the leader were. There's no way that he comes back as mobile as he was when he left and I feel like that could make him unplayable on D.I love Dame as much as anyone, but he DOES NOT deserve to steal anyone's playing time or thunder.
I don’t think Kawhi is coming here. Love to have a player that good but it’s pretty unlikely he would ever come to Portland.Dame will want a training camp with the guys before he shares a court with them. There's an excellent chance we could land Kawhi Leonard this offseason now that they've blown their playoff shot

On offense I don't want him walking the ball down the court and looking for a pick and roll/pop with Clingan on any of our set plays let alone the 50-75% that he's used to.
I love Dame... he's my favorite player of all time but with that said I am really hoping he's ready to play a role for our team next season and not be a lot more than a sharp shooter.
Maybe he'll surprise me with the way he'll adapt his game both to his new physical reality and to our new style of play but if not I do hope he's ready to play a role that is a huge reduction from what he has had in the past.

You’ve met Devin Booker?
Hey now!I voted "Happiness" because it was the closest option to "Hardon."
Is it? Outside of his assist #s, and he's been asked to play PG far more than Lavine, IMO, what does Booker do significantly better than Lavine, to where one is looked at as a franchise guy, and the other a pariah and awful contract, generally?Book is generally over-rated, but comparing him to Lavine is going too far the other way.
When Book gets over 70 million that contract will most definitely be a pariah. Is it? If this team goes into San Antonio and wins game 1 and 2 why on earth would Dame come back for game 3?I think Dame comes back if we win two games. He'd make his debut at the Rose Garden and be in a position to push the series to a game 7.
I don't think hes going to play a minute before then though. He doesn't want to play just to be part of a sweep.
I was thinking if the Blazers somehow win 2 of the first 5 games and force a game 6 - then Dame comes back in game 6.If this team goes into San Antonio and wins game 1 and 2 why on earth would Dame come back for game 3?
I just cannot see that happening. Not only two wins but certainly not a return of Lillard.
Yes - I do.Yikes!....I didn't know that Booker signed a 5 year deal at 61M/year....holy shit!
I guess it's relative. Using the projected 2028-29 salary cap of 206M; if Deni makes an all-pro team by then and is eligible for a super-max....and he signs a max deal, it would be around 5-years/418M....that's 83.6M/year
does anybody believe that Dundon would agree to that?
Did anyone here have expectations betond round 1? So with the misfortune of Wemby being out (possibly) and Blazers heading home 1-1 with two games that are winnable….suit up Dame and psyche out the young Spurs. I would start him and once he nails two 3’s he can sit until just before halftime and put him in for the final two minutes - in hopes he can make another 3 pointet and keep the crowd and league buzzing. If we are winning big, he can sit the second half, no problem. Momentum will be on the side of the Blazers. On Sunday, start him again and play him similarly. Let Deni, Holiday and Scoot do the drive penetration into the paint but keep Dame outside. For defense, with Wemby out and Dame in, play a 2-3 zone to make things easier on Dame.Nah. This team got where they are without him on the court. They need him on the sidelines for sure but let these guys get what they got coming.
Next year let Dame win his spot and stay healthy and keep it.
Plugging in Dame right now IMHO would be great to see for fans at first but a challenge the rest of the way.
Dame will play of we make it to Round 2
Again. These guys got there. Scoot is playing well. Deni is playing well. Camara has played well. Grant had his bright spot and is due. Jrue has done a bunch of veteran type things.Did anyone here have expectations betond round 1? We won the title 49 years ago guys. If the Blazers can get past San Antonio and Dame’s return was a success, his minutiea can increase as we advance. But the big thing to keep in mind here is that only 1 team wins it all. Anything can happen. And Dame’s return would have the NBA in a tizzy! And maybe this team steals a second title! I kinda have this feeling….

Bringing Dame back right now might be fun for fans but after the initial excitement it’s just not worth the risk of injury or messing with the chemistry they have now.
Dame is doing a great job on the sidelines.
