I actually don't get why someone is called a homer because they wouldn't trade Lillard for Ivring at the moment. Irvings rookie year was not as good as Lillards, take from that what you want, and who is to say that Lillard doesn't come out and have a sophomore year that is better then Irvings. Yes irving is 2 years younger but just because your younger doesn't mean you have higher upside or even if the player does, it doesn't mean they will actually develop that upside. Irving has lots of ?? about his health Lillard doesn't, both are considered great shooters who are horrible on D.
Pretty much what i'm getting at is that Irving has 1 more year in the league then Lillard and had time to develop more of his game and became a near superstar due to a great Sophomore season. There is nothing saying Lillard can't do that and if you just look at them from the end of their respective rookie seasons then its not all that ridiculous to say that Lillard has just as bright of a future as Irving.
I would trade Lillard for Irving right now because Irving is a better player at the moment and took that huge steps in his second season but I think Lillard can take just as big of steps as Irving did and it wouldn't surprise me if Lillard/Irving become the new CP3/DW debate.
