Here is last year's top 12 in the MVP race
SGA and Jokic for sure.
But most of the others I would not. (Mainly because of age/injury)

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander,
Nikola Jokić,

Giannis Antetokounmpo,
Jayson Tatum,
Donovan Mitchell
LeBron James
Cade Cunningham
Anthony Edwards
Stephen Curry,
Jalen Brunson
James Harden
Evan Mobley
Not sure top 12 was what I was thinking? More like top 4 or 5. Though Edwards would have to be considered.

Giannis, no. Embiid, no. Fuck this assembling superteams thing.
We wouldn’t be a superteam. We’d be a well rounded team with a superstar. The term superteam is thrown around too much. The Heat were a superteam because they had 3 of the top 4 PER players in the season before. In this era, I would consider a Giannis/Jokic/SGA team up to be a superteam. There are no superteams in the league right now.

Just no. It's the kind of hypothetical that's just not really a hypothetical. [dollars, talent suck, injuries from others required, sugar highs aren't that much fun as an adult ...]
Inevitably, it doesn't make for a good story or wanting to talk about it when it's over -- immediately or years from now.

Trading Scoot and Sharpe? Okay. Young players who I like and hope for, but they are not yet guys who have earned being a "keeper" status. [Keeper is not the same as untouchable.]

Trading Deni and Toumani? No. Just no. I've waited too long for real forwards who play both ends. Even then, they have work to do.
Giannis is a real forward who plays both ends.

I have a friend with a felony on his record because he grew a few of those plants on his porch when he was 20... 35 or 40 years ago...

Just stupid. Ill say no more though only be ause its getting into politics. But yeah. Sorry for your friend. At least i was able to pay a fine and have everything wiped clean some years later.

Edwards, SGA, Jokic & Giannis.

Those are the only ones i could consider trading our future for.
Giannis would be the last of the four id want to trade for. He cant shoot, which means you need to build a specific team around him.

No, nyet, non, nein, nee, nej.....

Why?...because the future is here.

We would be giving up a-lot of what makes us what we are though and then we would need to fill the void.
Losing Sharpe/Scoot/Grant or Scoot/Deni/Grant, I think thins us out too much if that is for Giannis.

I'd like to see what these young guys can do. It would have to be a pretty sweet win now package for me to let go of what I think of as our future (Scoot, Shaedon, Toumani, Deni, Clingan, Yang). I think that future has a pretty good shot at becoming a contender. So yeah if it was somehow for Joker and another all star that you could just put Jrue and then Dame plus a bunch of scrubs around and have multiple chances at winning it all, of course I'd do that better yet would be a win now package of SGA, JWill and Chet.

If it's just for some guy like Giannis or worse Embiid, count me out. I'll take my chances in the future.

Whatever it's called, it's not enough, and I don't like it.

There is a program called clean slate. That felony can be gone free of charge.
Thanks, I'll bring it up to him again.

Last time he looked into it he was going to have to pay a lawyer.

I'm not sure.

No thanks. Camara is our identity right now. He represents the very grit and defensive persona we are looking to be.
I just don't see it. Yes Camara has value and he can play defense but he certainly isn't going to win a game for you on the offensive side. To me he's a solid role player.
This is like saying Aminu was the teams identity a few years ago. Maybe you could push back further and say Wesley Mathews was the teams identity at one point but wow they sure got rid of him fast when he got injured so maybe that was all hype?

Right now the team has very little identity. That might be considered good. The (WE > ME) identity will win more games. Then remember they did just add Lillard and Holiday. So Identity again is a bit murky at best.

The OP stated... guaranteed to compete for championships... which I just don't see at all. Giannis needs to be surrounded by shooters, which Portland's roster lacks. Playing him with Clingan means every team will pack the paint cutting off his main plus ability of driving to the hoop. When paired with a pre-Achilles Dame the Bucks were not contenders & it's a near certainty Dame comes back well shy of that level of player. Giannis turns 31 midway through this season. His dominance has been mostly about superior athleticism not skills, which doesn't age well. So the best option presented is to throw away whats building for a short window, high floor/low ceiling & salary hell future? Can we send the Bucks back all the pick swaps too?

The OP says "Guaranteed to play for a championship the next two years". That part makes this an easy choice.

I think Camara’s instincts are far superior to Aminu’s in his prime(if he had one) I don't believe Aminu came close to making any all defensive teams?
I think you are underestimating a defensive minded glue guy who can do it all on that side. Every team needs one and i think the elite ones are rarer than one might think.

Yeah but a cursory glance at this roster reveals thats fantastical thinking as Giannis's game is a poor match for what would be left. That was the whole point of my post

After a fair amount of time on this board, can I now assume that the birds on the bush, are better than the birds in the hand?
People are bored and fine with being untethered to reality to have something/anything to share their opinion on. This happens every offseason. Its just a fraction of the overall community here that still hangs during the summer lull, but whats funny is that some here begin to believe these wild scenarios they dream up actually hold water.

That’s crazy. I have 37 kills confirmed while in the military and received medals for it. Life is nuts!

I did get that. And yes I agree.

Yeah you honestly cannot count killing those burritos. That was a contest and we all know you won but why rub that in everyone's face.

Thanks again for your service for realz fams.
That’s funny! No confirmed kills to speak of, just trying to intimidate rookies on here. Did see a couple friends go down here in the neighborhood BEFORE I served. That will always stick with you.
