I can't find the youtube version of this video but he explains everything that he saw which made him realize he could get an open shot. I am so impressed with his ability to read a situation. Lillard explains that he noticed Jones wasn't angled correctly to prevent him from getting a clean pass. He also explains that while Parsons and Beverley were discussing who should guard him, he took that as an opportunity to just take off and leave them in his dust. The fact that he was able to recognize this in only a few seconds is amazing to me.

This guy is so sharp. I could easily see him coaching some day (a long time from now.)

He sees the switch from bev to parsons on him, and he leans his head back and slumps his shoulders a bit like he's supposed to be thinking, "wish I weren't the decoy on this play... I'm just gonna pretend to beat parsons off the screen... YOINK!"

If you're stuck with a mid-lotto or lower 1st round pick, 4-year players are totally worth it, a good way to get a bargain because they tend to be underrated and you're probably not looking for a major star. So depending on your needs, a four-year player is perfect. I'd never pick a 4-year player at #1, but some might end up being the best player in their draft because hey you never know anyway.

Yep. I noticed that very thing around my 60th time of watching that shot. It was the body language fake that freed him, not any screen. By the time Parsons figured out he was bolting, he was two steps behind. I actually was impressed with Parsons' makeup speed. He got closer to Lillard than I thought he would given the start he had.
