I guarantee we'll win at least one in New Orleans and bring the series back to Portland

Not saying Portland can't win in NO but a few things about that last game.

1) Rondo didn't play in that game. Even if he would have, he only played 15-20 minutes/game during the regular season. They were saving him for this.
2) Mirotic only played 20 minutes off the bench
3) Lillard scored 41 but needed 33 shots. Blazers still barely won by 4.
4) Pelicans were the hottest team in the west coming into the playoffs winging 5 straight. Including beating the Warriors in Oakland just 10 days ago. It's a good squad even without Cousins.

Since everyone's starting threads, I thought I would too. I fly to New Orleans Thursday morning wearing my Aminu jersey. I'm going to make sure we get at least one win there and get the series back to Portland. This series ain't over. We'll get better as the series goes on. We're a +10 with Harkless on the floor and he's back now. New Orleans isn't great at home. Dame scored 41 last time we played there. I guarantee a win. Go Blazers.

You need to buy a stuffed Pelican, stick pins in it, and place it on the grave of Marie Laveau.

The most famous cemetery, St. Louis Cemetery #1, is walking distance from the French Quarter and the Downtown area. Located on historic Basin Street, it is the burial place of Marie Laveau, the legendary “voodoo queen.” Believers and non-believers alike make pilgrimages to her tomb to make offerings to her spirit in return for what they hope will be blessings. The many “X’s” scrawled on the tomb attest to the power she is believed to wield, even long after her death. Many other New Orleanians who achieved world fame are buried there as well, including 19th century chess champion Paul Morphy, Homer Plessy of the landmark Supreme Court segregation decision Plessy vs. Ferguson, and members of Impressionist artist Edgar Degas’ New Orleans-based family.
I'm being 100% serious. I need you to reverse hex the Blazers. Help us Obi King Kenobi, you're our only hope!

Oh fuck. I have to do this.

Man, I remember you were adamant and halfway nutty predicting the Blazers would come back to beat Dallas when we were down 3-0. And they almost did. Sadly, we don't have any undiscovered Zach Randolph's hiding in our depth charts, but maybe we can get hot and steal a few.

Anyone who just sat through these two bullshit efforts at the Moda Center has every right to assume this series is over. This team has shown no fight.
This team shot into a force field hovering over the rim and the clutch shots we witnessed during the streak are not in the house. Without doubt, we have no answer for AD and Holliday on the floor at the same time. We cannot matchup. We cannot catch up and close out games. Ever since the Houston loss which ended the streak, we have been an average team.
I would be happy to see four wins in a row starting in NOLA but the odds are staggered against us.

Isn't over until its over I agree. But it isnt a stretch to say that losing both home games so far is a huge dissapointment and shows just how far away we are from competing.
..............Competing in the same atmosphere as the NO Pelicans.wXYrN2b.gif

I can give you many.

1) Last time we were at NO, Dame scored 41 and we won.
2) Dame is awesome
3) We showed all season that we could win big games with our backs against the wall
4) We are not trash dude. We won 49 games!!
5) It's a loooooong series. 2-0 isn't 4-0.
6) New Orleans hasn't played particularly well at home.
7) It's the NBA Playoffs. Strange shit happens.
8) Dame is awesome.
9) Harkless was a +10 tonight and will likely play more as playoff series moves on
10) Dame and CJ believe.

You left one out and it’s a big one. We are one Anthony Davis high ankle sprain away from taking over this series. As great as he is, he gets nicked up ALL THE TIME! Make no mistake, Holiday and Rondo are benefiting from our defense constantly worrying about AD. If he goes down, their guards come back to Earth. Not talking career threatening, just your garden variety sprain that seemingly occurs about every 3 weeks with him. It’s time to break out the Zaza principles of how to close out on shooters.

This thread reeks of desperation, denial, and despair. I'm in. Go Blazers!

Exactly. This team often rises up from the ashes of a colossal meltdown to defy the odds. It’s fair to say they aren’t the best front runners, but down 0-2 in this case might be exactly what needed to happen. Think about the last few years . . . there is a pattern of underachieving when expectations are high, and then overachieving after everyone counts them out. Check. Check. Count me in the desperation, denial, and despair club.

Much like the Clipper series, this doesn't turn around unless there are some injuries. I suppose Stotts could actually do something to stop getting out-coached and Dame/CJ could start playing a little defense instead of getting schooled by Jrue/Rondo.....and maybe our offense stops being chuck up lots of '3's and /or, "no worries, we just have to make shots."

But I doubt it.

I think it's kinda nice that we're contributing to the biggest upset so far in this year's playoffs.

Kind of seems like you wasted your money on this series King. But who knows? All i know is they have to win the next game. There is no question about that. This is the first "Must Win" game of the playoffs. They will not come back from 0-3. You know it and so does everyone else.
