Outlaw must be a mega ballhog then.

Wait a second... so you arent sure if he is or not? You sure seem to offer your opinion in here very freely for someone who must not watch much or have much knowledge of this team. :dunno:

......

I also hate Von Wafer because he has a total of four passes in this series. Not assists ... passes.

The only thing worse than a ballhog is a ballhog who sucks and thinks he doesn't.

Kinda funny, but Wafer has 3 times as many assists as Travis in this series, in half the playing time. If you thought Outlaw was a chucker before it's pretty disturbing that he's made Wafer look like Steve Nash in this series.

Outlaw must be a mega ballhog then.

We all caught up?

Right cause this is the only thread you have an opinion on about this team.
And why does this matter, exactly? I used someone else's reasoning against them to show what a heap of shit it was (though I'm sure they already knew that). I've watched a fair bit of Blazers playoff action, so I guess I'm allowed to wager a thought here and there as well.

Good try though.

nice.. base something on 4 games of playoff action.... nice sample size to base comments on. So what exactly was I trying again?

Ron said he would cop the Von Hawk if the Rockets won in the first round.

any word on how gassed Yao is after playing 44 minutes?

No word, but it won't help Yao tomorrow. If he needs to play anywhere near 40 minutes to get his touches, he will turn the ball over and miss his turn around shots late in the game.

Thats what I'm hoping for lol.. but I want it to be a close game so Yao stays in and then is gassed for game 6. Thats my only hope right now, and I'm holding onto it dammit.

Not a stretch. I think the sense with Webster is that he WILL be better and that Wafer is as good as he's going to be.
Higher ceiling or no, Wafer's better today, even if Webster were available for the playoffs.

agree to disagree then. I don't think Wafer is as good as Webster, in the past, present or future.

Not only will I agree to disagree, but I'll hope I'm wrong and you're right (unless we trade Webster this offseason, then I'll hope I'm right).

:)

I hate Von Wafer because we had him last year and now he's owning every time he touches the ball.
The guy shoots the lights out and we never even gave him a shot.

At this point, I'd rather have him shooting for us than Travis, or Sergio, or Frye, or fuck, all of our bench except Oden and Rudy.

"We never even gave him a shot."

He never tried to get a shot. He coasted his entire time with the Blazers. He didn't work hard, he didn't play hard, he didn't try to fit in, he didn't try to learn the offense. Portland was a layover for him, nothing more. As far as I'm concerned, he can sit in the milk.

von wafer is that dude and I knew it as soon as I saw him play in the preseason. I don't know how teams didn't recognize this guys talent.....

Everyone knew about his talent but he always had that cocky "Me First" type of attitude that coaches obviously didn't agree with, he was a pretty great scorer in college. I think some team originally tried turning him into a PG too

You're trying to suck me into a Von Wafer debate, because you evidently did not realize that I was using someone else's retarded reasoning against them to prove a point. But fuck it, I'll bite.

I don't give a shit about sample sizes when its the fucking playoffs and the games matter. He's averaging double figures in four playoff games against a team that ranked 4th in the NBA in defense. That's really all I need to see in order to evaluate him as a keeper in this league.

But, the Blazers 2-guard defenders are Roy, and Fernandez. Roy doesn't have the energy to play great defense, and Fernandez isn't a good defender. Thus Von, Kobe, and other scoring two guards can light up the Blazers.

The Jazz would have been a great match up for Portland. The Blazers would have swept them because they are built to beat the teams that are built to beat old school teams. Too bad old school teams beat a young Portland team. If they learn how to play defense with intensity, they would be scary.

Except that Wafer also averaged close to double figures in the regular season, so this isn't exactly a fluke performance.

But you just said playoff performance was the only thing that mattered, now you quote the regular season? Hrm..ok...

Portland is a bad match up for Wafer (in the sense that we make him look stellar). I don't think other teams will have that issue.

Oh and, btw, in order to make the playoffs you have to actually play well during the season, sooo..I guess regular season games do matter.

Where the hell did I say that playoff performance is the only thing that matters?

Playoff performance is the most important thing. I mentioned the regular season to refute the notion that Wafer was on a fluke streak.

We're not that good of a defensive team, we played at the slowest pace in the league, that is why our PPG allowed was low.

I really didnt give a shit about the Von Wafer debate.. I was referring more to you running your mouth about a player being a ball hog.. yet you havent seen much more than a few playoff games. It was in reference to Outlaw.

He wouldnt know that.. he looks at numbers, doesnt really know much about the team.

Vakeaton Quamar Wafer is a free agent this year if the Blazers are interested. Von-hawk included.

i think most of you guys are just pissed (like I am) that Von Wafer is lighting up our guards; when last year he rode our pine.

You can say "he didn't try, this and that about his desire" but the point still stands that he's decimating us when he touches the ball.

Who cares that he doesn't pass, does Trout? No, they are in the game to score. Whose scoring more now? Trout or Von?

There's a lot of truth in that. Added to that is the fact that we've invested a draft pick and years and years of roster space and coaching and money to get Outlaw to the point where he is today. The Rockets just wrote a check at the beginning of the season.

This is the series where we'd hopefully see all that investment in Outlaw finally start to come to fruition. And he's looking like the second coming of Uncle Cliffy.

Hard for me to hate Von Wafer, becuase I know sooner or later he'll shoot his team out of an important game. Hasn't happened yet, but it will, mark my words....
