I feel like they’ll trade him. Everything they’ve said publicly is just to maintain whatever leverage they have left.

Pop has always seemingly had a weird respect for the Blazers and their players, so it wouldn’t surprise me if he liked CJ, and it would especially not surprise me if he liked Collins. Even Aminu is a fit. CJ and Collins is a better offer than Philly and LA would probably rather hold onto Ingram.

With all the guards we are signing that could mean that a deal with CJ is possible. I looked at the stats for last year and teams in the East (I dont think Portland would trade CJ to a Western conf. team) and the two teams who made the least 3 pointers/game was the New York and Milwaukee. New York has no one worth trading for except for Porzingis and I think Milwaukee would be a target for a trading partner if we could get Middleton, then use TPE on a taller shooting guard. So lineup would be something like this:

The ONLY reason I'd trade for Melo would be to shorten the contracts of someone like Meyers and Turner from 2 yrs to oneas Melo expires this yr. However no way OKC would do that because that would add another yr to their horrific tax situation. Just forget Melo, he's awful
