Watching him match Kobe shot for shot in that forth quarter and then make a couple key defensive stops against Kobe in the final 2:00 minutes was freakin awesome! This guys ceiling isn't just the playoffs, all-star games, he will win NBA championships he's just that good and competetive. He has that will to win, that give me the ball and lets do this attitude that no one really had on past great Blazer teams that I've seen. Drexler didn't have that, Pippen had it to an extent, but was well past his prime and wasn't as effective, Wallace could of had it, but never really wanted it. His lull you to sleep and then bursts of speed and ability to use both hands or crossover and spot up is really reminiscent of MJ. Not only is he great, but he's a cool customer and a great representative of the city of Portland. I couldn't think of another star in the league I'd want to have representing the team I've grown up loving. He'll never get that top 5 superstar thing that Kobe, Lebron and Wade have simply because he doesn't have that "flashy" persona. He simple and pure and a hell of a basketball player.

Corny post I know, but after rewatching that game and thinking back on how many times he's willed this team to victory this year I felt like posting this.

I think that Drexler had the will to win and all that. Honestly, at this point I just do not believe that Drexler had the combination of BBIQ, skills and athleticism that Roy has. Of course Drexler was more athletic than Roy, but I do not think that he was able to maximize it quite like Roy does, if that makes sense. I will add though, that Roy has yet to play a single playoff game so we do not know if he will be successful or the next Uncle Spliffy. I anticipate him doing fine though.

For one thing Clyde was a great two-way player and makes Brandon look like Steve Nash on the defensive end of the court. Brandon does have a great all-around offensive game (especially his mid-range jumper) that possibly rivals Drexler, but let's see how he does in the playoffs these next few seasons before we get too far ahead of ourselves.

Roy is not superior to Drexler yet. Drexler was a legitimate top-25/top-30 player in history, and I wasn't even a Blazers fan when Drexler was playing. He was one of the best all-around players ever. For Roy to catch and surpass him, he has to do it a lot longer than he has and become much better on defense and better on the boards.

No, I'm not saying he's like Steve Nash, I'm saying that in comparison to Clyde he looks like Steve Nash. That's not a knock on Brandon (whom I consider to be an OK defender) it was meant to underscore just how tough Clyde was out on the wing.

I think I typed in something just like that in my post. Did you not bother to read it? And I also think Roy's defense is just fine. Drexler never came close to d'ing up Jordan like Roy did Kobe at the end of this last game. And yes, I am putting Kobe in Jordan territory and I hate the fucker.

Oh, come on. If any player was ever built for the playoffs, it's Roy. He shines in the fourth quarter and in the last two minutes of a game, when everything is on the line. That's performing under pressure, and that's what Roy is best at. He will be a star in the playoffs.

Roy's an excellent defender in the 4th quarter. Ask Joe Johnson, Carmelo, and Kobe. Problem is, he hardly tries the other 3 quarters.

ROY uses decent clock management when its clutch time and makes the plays in the 4th when it matters most. Yes, I agree that we would like him to do this "attacking" the other 3 quarters but Nate knows that ROYS best energy is used for the 4th. Most teams at this point try to contain him in the 4th or let him get by but he finds ways of other players in the squad to do the damage. I am glad that ROY uses his extreme energy in the 4th instead of burning himself out in the other 3 quarters.

Agreed. Roy and Outlaw will SHINE in the playoffs and win over fans across the country. And I think Oden will surprise some people. It's gonna be a great playoffs. I can't wait!

As for Roy defending Kobe for 4-5 mintues somehow trumping Drexler's entire career because of squaring off against MJ and not being able to contain him ... talk about a reach.
