This should be a warning to all Laker fans who wear their gear to the games: you will be wasting your money because not only will you watch your team lose, but suffer harassment and ridicule. Just stay home. When Blazer fans by the hundreds start invading the Staples Center and laughing in the face of Laker fans for rooting for their team IN THEIR OWN ARENA, then you have a right to bitch.

lol was that under the personals?

People are embarrassing sometimes.

When I was in college I saw the Blazers play the Bulls and fortunately I was not treated like that.

Awesome. I have no problem with this whatsoever. 99% of the Laker fans I encounter at the RG are complete fucking douche bags. This guy actually sounds ok, but he's in the VAST minority.

When I was reading "section" whatever, I was hoping he was going to say my section. I would be honored to piss off a Laker fan this much.

I rarely go to visiting arenas/stadiums anymore. College football expecially. Fans and especially drunk fans are too annoying. However I must admit in my youth I was just as bad. I am a little embarrassed by some of my actions back then..............Ah fuck that, they were Huskie fans and this guys sounds like one too.

In a way, the guy has a point. Just because they're Laker fans doesn't give us cart Blanche to treat them like shit. Even if they (the Laker fans) are classless, it serves us no purpose to respond to them at their level.

In all the games I've gone to, I've never had any issues with fans of other teams. I'm respectful to them (after all, it's just a game) and they're respectful towards me.

In fact, I'd rather have Laker fans sitting next to me instead of Kings fans. Talk about a bunch of annoying fans!

I wish I was as good a human being as you. Jesus would be proud.

Actually, Jesus would have fucking hated douchebag Laker fans, too, so it's all good. :)

I get to see Blazer games in opposing arenas occasionally when traveling for work. I've never had any problem with the local fans. But then I don't wear blazer gear in their arena. Doing so is putting up a big sign that says "hey, pay attention to ME". If you invite that sort of attention, you shouldn't be surprised when you get it.

Yeah, I have to say I don't even wear a Red Sox cap when I go to Mariners' games, even though about one-third of the fans at SafeCo seem to be rooting for Boston. As barfo said you're basically putting a target on your chest. That said, threats of violence are way over the line, even for obnoxious Laker fans (and this guy, as far as I can tell, doesn't sound nearly as obnoxious as some).

In my experience, there are 3 types of Laker fans:

A) The "real" fans who actually know the game and respect the history of the team.

B) The "bandwagon" fans, whose knowledge of the NBA is limited to "Lakers win lots of games - and the cool kids wear their gear."

C) The total, irredeemable douchebags. The people who gave birth to the phrase "sense of entitlement."

I have no problem with "A", ignore "B", and have zero sympathy for "C".

Personally, I don't have any problem with it, barfo. ;)

Yeah, those Laker fans at Staples are very classy and would never cross the line;

Laker fans that show up at the Rose Garden are arrogant, disrespectful to the home team and try to make themselves the subject of everyones attention. The purple and piss deserve all they get. And the pussy that posted on Craigs List could not do anything. He is not even half as tough as he wants us to believe he is. He wouldn't want to challenge most Blazer fans to a round of fisticuffs. Wouldn't end pretty going one on one. Laker fans are only tough when there is a hoard of them.

I didn't read the Craig's list post (it's been removed - anybody have a cached copy that can post?), but in general, Laker fans that show up at the Rose Garden decked out in piss and purple, sporting their ridiculous "bling" and generally behaving like disrespectful assholes, are DYING for attention - then they piss and moan about it when they get it. If they didn't WANT attention, they would dress and behave this way in enemy territory.

TO THE JERKOFF BLAZER FANS IN SECTION 116, ROW MM(Seattle, WA)

Date: 2009-04-11, 1:28AM PDT

Wow, rarely in my life have I experienced as crude a class as you. I get it, I'm a Laker fan and you hate the Lakers with a passion. I wear my gear and cheer for my team fully aware that you Blazers fans will shout things at me and try to drown me out. That's all fine and good. However, you folks in section 116, row MM, seats 1 and 2 crossed the line when you tell me to "sit the fuck down" even though there's a dude directly in front of me who won't sit and it's blocking my view of the game, when you lean over and stick your head between mine and friends and make noises and whistle directly in my ear to intimidate us, when you lean forward to high five the guy's in front of us, when you stick paper faces of the Laker cheerleader face you morons cut out in front of our view, and when you keep touching my shoulder every five seconds. You're lucky you were surrounded by a bunch of your Blazer buddies, I would have knocked you out right then and there, except I knew that I'd be overtaken, it was two against a hundred.

What classless pieces of crap. As I was walking down Multomnah tonight, someone threatened to kill me, KILL ME over my passion for my team. Are you people crazy?! I grew up in LA, the Lakers are my team, it's probably a passion similar to your own. I'm in the northwest for college and the only time I get to see my team now in an exciting game is in Portland. There's a respect for the game that entails not trumping all over someone's humanity because they like a team different than yours. Man, and I actually LIKED Portland, I watched B-Roy play since I've been at UW, I liked the young talent, I liked Nate. I went to quite a few games down there this year, excited about the team. But after my experiences for the Laker games on March 9 and tonight, to hell with Portland. I hope you guys get swept in the first round.

And as for you pieces of crap I dealt with tonight, you can bet I'll be there at the Garden every single game the Lakers play there. This message doesn't apply to all Blazer fans, but there's way too many of you that go over the top. I DARE you to come down to STAPLES when we're taking you on, just please, get down there. I was raised with class and taught to appreciate the beauty of the game. People like you are a disgrace to the game, the Trail Blazers team, and the city of Portland.

I guess he was annoyed he couldn't speak on his cellphone without being bothered.

I can actually hear the trembling in his "voice" in that post.

Well done, Rose Garden crowd!

man, i don't want Laker fans "liking" us. I'm not glad how he was treated at the game, we need to show class, but I'm glad he hates us now. we don't like them, they shouldn't like us. You think Duke/Carolina like each others? EFF that!

Wait, isnt this the exact type of thing YOU guys complain about Lakers fans in the Rose Garden, but now that the tables have turned this guy is getting ragged on?!?

So does that mean he won't be coming to the Blazers' Championship parade?

But, the tables haven't really turned, have they? I mean, it's still the same venue...our venue. I'd say talk to us when the Blazers next play in Staples.

When have Blazer fans ever invaded Staples? There's always a ton of Laker fans when they play at the Garden, and they're usually very obnoxious. Very smug. Very rowdy. It makes it that much sweeter when we beat them.
