Great post until you got to this line. Such a tax would not be an "income" tax as authorized in the 16th amendment. But it would be a direct tax, such as prohibited in the Constitution.
It would provide everyone with some skin in the game is my purpose. Even the 77 millions americans paying $0 in federal income tax.

Plenty of local taxing jurisdictions as well as state tax jurisdictions do have minimum taxes on corporations.

Yes, and the Constitution does not restrict these taxes. Even though they are becoming egregious. The Constitution only restricts the Federal government from direct taxes on individuals except as authorized on income by the 16th amendment. To me that means, no income, no tax.

Im not arguing against the constitution. I would think you of all people would be for everyone paying $100 and having some skin in the game. But i guess not. More EIC credits and refundable credits for everyone without paying any federal income taxes!

You are a kind and generous man @MarAzul

One example of an egregious tax is the new minimum tax by the State of Oregon that my Home Owners Association is stuff with on money collected to maintain our roads.
WTF, taxing money people pool to maintain a common road???

He paid taxes on the $900M he lost.

Likely more than you, me, and everyone else who posts here will pay in a lifetime, combined.

If he made $900M on one business and lost $900M on another in the same year he'd pay $0 in tax (he made net $0). It's logically the same as making $900M one year and losing it the next.
I don't care what his profit loss method is....he admitted himself that it's wrong but he took advantage of it. It's what he's done with Trump University and Trump Charities that I'm really most bothered about.....and the 6 bankruptcies.....you guys act like.....poor Donald....nobody gives him a fair shake...he polarized his whole campaign by mudslinging AT the media....even AT moderators...the guy keeps telling everyone to take the first punch

It's not wrong.

He paid taxes on the $900M he lost.

You'd have him pay twice.

I'm definitely no accountant but I'm bothered when CEOs of big companies stiff contractors and cause layoffs and walk away with a profit...some get fired with a half a billion buyout check....maybe you guys live in that world but I'm from the working class and on my humble level...always paid my bills, even taxes. Trump has bilked students and workers while shitting on his golden toilet....fuck him

no....I'd have him pay his contractors and labor force first as well as reimburse his students that were scammed and pay back the charity money he used for litigation fees and gifts for himself....before his royalty check was mailed

I sure don't feel I have been short on adding to the game over the years.

"refundable credits" never seemed like a good thing to me.
You may not have been short. But the disconnect from average joe blow tp that expects a refund even if they havent had anything withheld, dont have skin in the game.

Of the 77 million estimated to not be paying federal income tax, $100/person is 7.7 billion in revenue. Skin in the game

I'm sure he does pay his contractors and labor force. The employees don't walk out, and the contractors keep signing up for work.

You do realize it's possible that some contractors try to rip off their customers?

It's business, not a social program.

poor Donald....he has stirred your heartstrings Denny...it's those students, vets and contactors that failed him eh?

I hear your concern. I just would like a fix that does not ignore the Constitution. There are many possible, but a head tax and calling it an income tax (minimum) is about as directly prohibited as you could find.

Give it a couple of parameters and it no longer is a head tax. See Pdx Arts Tax.

Nah, I've been around enough real estate professionals and contractors to have seen both sides try to screw the other. Guy built a new house next to mine. It took 2 years longer than expected and the contractor had a penalty clause for being late. At some point, he had little incentive to finish, aside from the lawsuit threat.

Trump University is definitely sketchy, IMO. But it's a thing for the civil courts and maybe criminal courts to decide. Not everyone is happy with what they pay for all the time.

the two things should go hand in hand

Wait! When a man starts a business he should also start a " social program"?
Geez, I should think we all should applaud the effort of starting the business. That does help society all on it own.

See Bill Gates or many companies that provide for instance...day care services or gyms for their workforce...it's something that has proven successful...I think you're focusing on welfare checks Marz....not young couples raising kids who work for a living. I'm not saying everyone should give to charity but I volunteer with several local programs for seniors and poor children in my community...I recommend it..good for the soul...something Donald Trump is far removed from

They do what they have to to attract and retain employees. It's not a social program.

I have no argument with folks who start businesses and take care of those businesses....that's not my point of rage against Trump

Sigh! PDX taxing is not restricted by the direct tax prohibited in the Constitution, only the Federal Government.
Lol. Im talking about making something not a heads tax. Read up on it.

Wow! You are a classic case. The sort of guy that I spoke about when teach team building. The man at the top can hardly ever be trusted to the "Feeling" type, unless he/she built the company to begin with.

By the way, I have read that Trump has daycare at many of his companies. I never worked for or consulted with a company that provided day care for employee children.
