Oh my Lord is it fun. I started with an Earl Campbell rookie card and 6 trades and 3 weeks later I have a bar b q worth maybe $500. My goal is a boat for Christmas

When I first saw this thread title I thought it said "I started bartending".

My dad was a bartender at the Club Venus on Sandy Blvd in Parkrose. No idea if it is still there or not? I can mix a drink with the best of them

I have some magic beans I will trade you for the BBQ.

ha, I was going to say that, but couldn't find the clip from the office where Dwight starts with a push pin and ends up with a telescope only to trade that for magic beans.

this one?

in other news, you can just get awesome free crap on craigslist, and barter that instead

I tried barfoing once. All I got was a nasty hangover that lasted about a week.

Nice! We were actually talking about bigger or better earlier today. Good stuff!

Out by the Wooden Chicken?

Ya, a little west of that on the other side of Sandy Blvd. He also, at one time, was a part owner of the Alibi on Interstate, but that was way back in the day. Sad story, one of the regulars that used to frequent the Club Venus, Adolph (some Italian name), offered my dad the land between Sandy and Shaver, from 122nd to 133rd, for like $50 an acre because they were such good friends. My dad said no because he didn't think it would ever be worth anything. LOL

You didn't do it right.

Yeah I did. Not only was it a long nasty headache, when I felt better, I was so confused all the time. So I quit barfoing and all is back to normal.

Back on the topic of bartering..Denny, you need a grill (only half joking)? I can't have in my place downtown and I don't want to deal with craigslist.

How big is the grill? Anything you need in trade? If it's a good deal, I will pay the shipping costs

It's actually this one in the link, along with the folding stand. It is portable, which I like, and can take a tank or a canister of propane. I've never actually used it, so I was going to ask $100 on CL (new its @280 + tax). I'd keep it, but we live in a studio w/ no storage so it's just taking up space in our apartment.

Sorry I missed this. I appreciate the thought, but I already have one, and I'm close enough to the ocean that things rust really fast so I either would want a super cheap one i could throw away when it rusted out or an expensive one that's quality stainless steel and rustproof as can be.
