Bulls now get Rose or Beasley because of 1 less win

Everyone laughed at me back then telling me I am not a true fan...

We could have had Beasley

Or you can blame the NBA for rigging it for one of the top markets in the US. Eh, coulda shouda woulda

Now

Bulls take D Rose
Miami Takes M Beasley
Twolves take OJ MAYO.

I'd even throw in 21 if we need to sweeten the pot. We have a a chance to get someone in the 2nd round who could be just as productive at that spot. I'm not the biggest Melo fan by any means but guys who can go for 40 on any given night do not grow on trees.

Ugh.. the bulls really screwed us.
You really think RJ, 10TH PICK, KVH'S CONTRACT SEAN & MARCUS WILLIAMS for Melo & camby could work?
Would you do it? Would you guys give up on both Swill and Mwill?

I'm not crazy for giving up Swat, simply because he and Camby could just scare the shit out of anybody when they're on court together.
But, as reganomics said, I'd throw in another pick and stick with our 40.
Do I think Melo and Camby on the Nets would work? Compared to the season we just had, I think ANYTHING, well, almost anything, can at least give us a better record.

But does this trade make us a top 3 team in the east?

Who do you take at #10?

You did really well with a late pick in getting Marcus, eh?

Some of my brain cells imploded reading the logic of the first post.

And now we have to hear sloth brag about having the number one pick...ugh....

Well, we don't have Stefanski any more. So that changes things. We have to think like Kiki+Thron would...

I just can't believe people are disappointed with the #10 pick.

It's like going all in with 2-7 and being disappointed when you don't win the pot.

no we're not. we've got what we were supposed to get - 10th pick. and remember, there are picks like Stromile Swift -2nd and Andrea Bargnani-1st, and picks like Andrew Bynum - 10th etc. Draft wisely!

Lol I totally missed that. Yeah we had a ~87% chance to get the 10th pick, and the chances of getting any other pick were no more than ~3% per position.

there was a greater chance of us moving down a spot than moving up... so im fine with what we expected all along. i was dissapointed too at first the odds of us moving up were really slim. Bulls just got crazy lucky

Well, I think (starter wise) that it places us above Clevland, Tornto, possibly Orlando. Maybe not top 3, but perhaps top 4.

If this is the case i don't see a team with an aging Camby getting much better than that in years to come and we should proceed in another direction even if the deal , pipe dream as it is. were possible.

Razel, I totally agree with you. Camby's defense is overrated (he gets blocks by leaving the post open) and with age (34) he is slowing down.
However, the beauty of this deal is that Camby has 2 years on a decreasing contract. This season he'll make $8M and the following he'll make $7.65. Which basically means that he'll be making his fair value, he'll cover our rebounding deficiencies, and his contract expires in time for the Sweepstakes of 2010.

Plus, (someone correct me if I'm wrong), new contract year starts on July 1. Technically, this year Camby is still making $10M. Thus if the Nets trade for Anthony/Camby on or very soon after the draft night, they get to package an extra $2M in contracts. I think this is an excellent trade for New Jersey.
