If the Rangers can move him in offseason I certainly would. Let him go complete jello head in another jersey. Frankly with the way he has played you wouldn't notice him missing anyway.

The anger in me right now says call Carolina and see if we can get skinner.

The entire Rangers defense is overwhelmed...you can look at just about every player on the blue line and see that. They have had a rough series in every aspect, turnovers, coverage, passing, shooting...you name it. They have been outclassed. But I don't see the Rangers bringing in anyone on defense that's going to be markedly better than Staal.

With Staal it's just not the Kings series.

The change in philosophy has shown that the defense is not super. Its very good but can make mistakes just like other teams.

I don't think they'd get Skinner but I'd try a package of Staal, Dorsett, prospect for Tlusty and Harrison. Then maybe re-sign Carcillo or Raymond as a FA. Tlusty will give you 15-20g and Harrison isn't much of a downgrade from the present Staal. Dorsett is expendable imo.

unless Staahl makes unrealistic money demands, he's not going anywhere. This is a D that has blocked a boat load of shots and been pounded for four series now. They only gave up 15 shots to a very talented offensive team. That's darn good. If we don't win the cup, it will be because the offense did not bear down and bury pucks. Our D is solid, maybe not the best in the NHL, but for sure in the top five. In my post before the series started, I stated that the Kings were going to score goals this series and that if we were going to beat them, it would come down to our PP and forwards 5 on 5. There forwards have simply been better than ours.
