Ian Clark played great for Miami in Orlando, then hooked up with Golden State in Las Vegas and scored 33 points for them in the final. He's an incredibly efficient shooting guard in a PG's body. He's one of the undrafted players who just played himself into a contract with someone. Us?

Undrafted rookie free-agent guard Ian Clark drawing interest from Jazz, Warriors, Blazers after strong Summer League: usat.ly/11bTfN4

He worked out for us before the draft.

Gotta say I'd prefer a lockdown defender or, y'know, ACTUAL point guard. Preferably both in one.

Can't see it unless we are already cutting Watson or we trade Freeland. Big man or leaving the spot open are the only two things I can see happening right now.

We already have an undersized SG, McCollum.

Apparently he was a 2 time DPOY of his conference in college.

He doesn't make any sense for Portland, but he'll be a great, cheap pick-up for some other team, and he also makes perfect sense for my Grizz, which kills me, because he's from Memphis. He went to my sister's high school and only went under-recruited because he played on the same team as Todd Mayo (Marquette) and Austin Hollins (Minnesota).

Why my Grizz wouldn't bring in a hometown knock-down shooter that plays D is beyond me, given we have a defensive identity and our fanbase would collectively cut off their big toes if it meant getting some perimeter shooting.

Basketball wise I'd cut Barton to get him. Paul Allen would have to eat that extra cost though.

Oh. That's something, I guess. But he'd probably prefer to go to somewhere that didn't have an entire roster of SGs already.

Cutting someone doesn't clear cap space, and we have a roster space. If any SG is getting cut, it'll be Terrel Harris.

What we need at the SG is a tall defender. We have plenty of backcourt shooters with Lillard, Barton, McCollum and Crabbe. Other than Wes, we have no defense in the backcourt.
