If CJ were to be traded, who are we most likely to get?

The thing I hate about a CJ trade is that it needs to be done, but we will lose the trade because he’s going to look a lot better somewhere else as a potential primary ball handler. He’s looked great here when Dame is hurt. He’s just not a great fit as the secondary perimeter player.

Huh, I was just saying today that I don't think Minnesota is at all interested in trading KAT, but who knows? CJ and Nurk and I think they will want Little also for KAT and Beasley or Rubio.

I don't care if we "lose" the trade if our team gets better.

Siakam would take so many draft picks thrown in to even get the Raps' attention, I don't see that as realstic.

CJ is only getting you back distressed, overpaid assets. Kevin Love, Porzingis, Steven Adams, Horford and Hield type contracts. Maybe a young prospect or pick thrown in.

The only hope is a player like Beal or PG is disgruntled after a 1st round exit and forces the front office to make a quick move.
Let New Orleans send them the draft picks, they have tons.

This is the terrible situation we've found ourselves in. No one wants this guy. We held onto him about 3 or 4 years too long. It would be a miracle if we get equal value back for that contract.
One man's garbage is another man's treasure....

I think it's very realistic, if the Raptors are going to trade Siakam in this major rebuild they're doing, that we can trade CJ to the Knicks for picks and prospects which will go to Toronto, we may have to include a future first as well but we could end up with Siakam. If Philly loses in the next round then I could see us getting Harris for CJ straight up. I think the Mavs would probably do CJ and Nurk for Porzingis, Finney-Smith and Burke.

Honestly I think there would be a lot of trades out there for CJ that bring us back real value. I think a three team trade with the Knicks could bring back a lot of different guys from other teams who are looking for young pieces and cap relief. So there actually is a lot out there.
You still haven't said if you would be willing to give up Little in a trade for Siakam, cuz I know Ujiri will want him.... :)

Dame and DeRozan.
Coach Vanterpool.
Draymond and Love.

Let's go!
Yeh, I have thought about DeRozan, especially with Stotts out as coach. Involve a third team like New Orleans. DeRozan has a 3.2 BPM compared to CJ's 1.2 and a ortg 122 to CJ's 120 and Drtg 115 to CJ's 118. He averaged 7.5 assists per 36. This is one trade I don't think we would need to give up any additional assets.

I'd do that! Does it need a third team; I can't tell if Houston is rebuilding or not.

The numbers work. They are definitely rebuilding

They would want us to take Wood/Gordon though probably and include a pick

If they are rebuilding, then wouldn't we need a third team to give them young players and/or draft picks?

They would want a pick from us.

Just saying the deal could be done without a 3rd team

Great job Neil.

CJ tanked his value. Now Philly fans think it's laughable to try to trade CJ for Tobias.

I think we need a forward really bad and since Powell is a very good player he can take CJ's spot.

My 1st target would be Ingram. Probably CJ is not nearly enough so i would give them CJ+Little+1st. If that's again not enough then CJ+RoCo for Ingram+Alexander-Walker

There is a prism that I view this question through and that is we will most likely get Norman Powell and whoever we trade CJ for. So that means we can go out and shop CJ for a forward and what we get back doesn't have to be better than CJ for us to get much much better. Norm at SG without CJ hogging the ball is a much better player than what we were getting from him at SF taking Dame's and CJ's table scraps. So if re-signing Norm is contingent on moving CJ for a player who doesn't play Norm's position, that changes what the definition of good value coming back for CJ is.

The other side of the equation is that we if we get good size at PF, then RoCo can go to SF. We wouldn't end up being undersized all the time
