Sad part today is Instead of reading the Bible themselves they go by what Man is teaching. When it should be What does God say in Bible and is my preacher following it.

My parents are devout Christians (I struggle but am a believer), my dad even has a theology degree. They've been members of their church for 40+ years and it's gotten to the point they don't want to go to Sunday school after the sermon because it's all about politics that they don't agree with.

My parents are devout Christians (I struggle but am a believer), my dad even has a theology degree. They've been members of their church for 40+ years and it's gotten to the point they don't want to go to Sunday school after the sermon because it's all about politics that they don't agree with.

I think it's up to you, your parents, and others like your parents to demand more from their church and ministers. I'm glad to know that there are people who don't agree with the mixture of politics with Gods words, but it might take leaving the congregation and finding a new one to get the message to the church leaders. If the flock keeps thinning, I would expect the focus would return to the bible and away from politics.
